Sorry, if you want to play "neener, neener, neener" you'll have to find someone else to play with. I don't have time for children.

In contrast to National Rifle Association executive vice president Wayne LaPierre, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (R) on Friday said he doesn't think putting armed guards in every school is a sound response to last week's massacre at Sandy Hook Elementary in Newtown, Conn.

“In general I don’t think that the solution to safety in schools is putting an armed guard because for it to be really effective in my view, from a law enforcement perspective, you have to have an armed guard at every classroom,” Christie said while appearing at an event in Newark, N.J. “Because if you just have an armed guard at the front door then what if this guy had gone around to the side door? There’s many doors in and out of schools.”

Why do people hire armed guards if they don't do any good? For vanity?

You guys have to realize that LJ's teflon is pretty thick, right?

You are wasting your time trying to insult her. It is her fuel.

The fed dept. of education costs us 70 billion every year just eliminate this useless bureau and give the money to the states for teachers and guards.

I hear you Soulshiner. I just get a kick out of her, of all posters, calling other people bat s**t crazy. It's hilarious to me.

Back to the topic though. As far as I can tell the left has been laying in wait for the NRA to come out and make a statement. The left desperately needed someone or something to blame for what happened in Newtown. The NRA made a recommendation and the left went after their message. Actually the Code Pink wackjobs didn't even want the NRA to make a statement. They were rude and tried to drown the speaker out. This tells me the left believes in free speech (you know, another constitutional right) as long as it's speech that they agree with. Otherwise...no free speech...only sillyassed banners and crazy people shouting like they are being taken to execution.

The front page of the Huffington Post presents a long list of shootings. Unfortunately for the left what it wants it will never have. You will never get Americans to give up their constitutional right to own a gun. I realize that in the twisted mind of the left zero gun ownership equates to a safer world but it won't happen.

This reminds me of the discussion about the Fiscal Cliff. You don't hear any acceptable solutions from the left....they tell you exactly what they want and that's the end of the "compromise". You know...the "my way or the highway" approach. I haven't heard any real solutions from the left about the issue of violence in American. I can tell you that the illusion that Americans give up their guns is not the solution. It will fail for the same reasons the war on drugs is failing. You have to find a way to stop people from contemplating violence because no matter what you do bad guys will find ways to hurt people.

The only thing banning guns does is erode our constitutional rights. It won't solve anything in my opinion. In the meantime, go ahead and live your fantasy. If you REALLY want to stir up the hornet's nest, go ahead and try to take a single weapon from a law abiding citizen. I think a lefty should be the first one through the door. We will be right behind you.

So - I read about the NRA's ideas, this morning.

I agree with a LOT the NRA has to say - but this time
I think someone in the board room must have been smoking pot in Colorado.

Seriously guys????

When I first started lurking around these boards I found her post mildly amusing. Now I think they are hilarious. Her message is completely lost because when she post this is what I imagine she looks likes.

She reminds me of my cranky old grammy. She was a hoot to get riled up around the holidays.

NRA Chief Wayne LaPierre A 'Desperate, Cornered Rat,' 'Lobbyist For Mass Murderers' (VIDEO)

Lawrence O'Donnell condemned NRA president Wayne LaPierre for Friday his press conference about the Newtown massacre in a special edition of his MSNBC show.

O'Donnell does not usually work on Fridays, but he made an exception for LaPierre. The gun lobbyist called for armed police officers in every school. His comments were widely criticized.

O'Donnell did not mince his words, calling LaPierre a "lobbyist for mass murderers," and denouncing him for attempting to take issue with the media's coverage of the slaughter in Connecticut. He noted one of LaPierre's points: that the media had gotten a fact about the power of the gun shooter Adam Lanza used. O'Donnell pointed out that each bullet Lanza fired traveled at the speed of 3,200 feet per second:

“Is there really something to quibble about in how powerful a bullet is when it is heading toward a six-year-old at the speed of 3200 feet per second? What kind of desperate, cornered rat would dare to mention that the Sandy Hook shooter could have used a more powerful bullet? Could have what? Done more damage? Made the bodies of six-year-olds even more difficult to identify?"

Gotta love it when a raving lunatic gun-nut hangs himself on trying to chastise the press for not getting an irrelevant fact about the muzzle-velocity of a round "heading toward a six-year-old"....

Good to see this Neanderthal ripped to shreds....
