Our congress has no concept of the consequences that result from their inability to carry out the nations business. Unfortunately we the people pay for their incompetence.

Yes, it's a shame that the teabaggers are more obsessed with shutting things down than governing.... But I never discount the ability of the Republicans to find a way to screw the average American family.

If the agriculture bill is not addressed, the dairy subsidy would expire January 1 and milk prices could double to about $7 a gallon.

...OR, they get their thumbs out of their collective extremities and pass the agriculture bill...

Pity.

Let milk go to its natural price. (Lactose intolerant.)

this isn't milk's natural price ---- the price will be driven up by government purchasing!

So this is the farm bill that the Senate passed in July, passed the House committees in August, yet the House GOP leadership refuses to allow it to come to a vote, even though it has cleared all other hurdles?

Even more of a shame that the "progressives" back in the 1940's got the federal government involved in fixing prices and created a problem that has to be continually fixed by every successive Congress. Without a law which required the federal government to buy milk at $7 a gallon that was passed during they heyday of progressive policy, there would be no reason for any action at all by the current Congress, right?

I think it was part of that "Let's make Obama a one-term president" [by sandbagging anything and everything, and then trying to blame it on the Dems]. And, hey if it screws the average American family, they were probably part of that 47% that deserve to get screwed anyway...

Unfortunately, they didn't get the memo that they LOST the election...

If we want to know who to blame for our current fiscal problem all we need to do is look in the mirror. An interesting perspective.

Who’s to blame for fiscal cliff? You
Commentary: No mandate for action from splintered government

It’s not just that partisans will naturally favor their own side. It’s quite plausible to look at everyone gathered for Friday’s White House meeting on how to avert the fiscal cliff and rip into all of them, for tepid leadership, bungled negotiation and simply not getting the job done.

But to put the blame on them for allowing a series of enormous tax hikes and drastic spending cuts to go into effect — maybe not for long, one can hope — is to miss the point. Because if you’re looking for someone to blame, hold up the mirror. It’s you.

Just how mismatched have the congressional and presidential races become? Take Ohio, where Obama netted just six of the 18 congressional districts despite winning the state by about two percentage points. The second-closest state in the presidential election is basically turned into Oklahoma when it comes to House representation. And that’s the case in most other states as well.

Regardless of whether Obama, Boehner & Co. are giving their best efforts or not, this complete mismatch of legislative and executive governance is the root cause of the current crisis. And, by and large, it’s not the folks inside the Beltway that are to blame.

The fault is yours.

Well played! If you need someone to blame go find a mirror. There you will find the culprit.
