Oh Patty Schroeder. Ever get ashamed of your replacement? Breaking per a Denver Post tweet: DeGette's office says she confused magazines with clips which she thinks can't be reloaded but they also can be reused. I have heard of low information voters but this time it is a Congressman drafting laws.

Idiot example one: Governor Cuomo of New York writing and passing legislation without public review. He signed a bill that limited magazines to seven rounds and even banned law enforcement from being exempted from this unvetted legislation. In the words of Nancy Pelosi, "We have to pass the bill to find out what is in the bill."

:faint: Of course, Cuomo eventually saw the light and got the bill partially fixed. Now police are exempt and 10 round mags will be permitted.

(Irony? Before this legislation was passed, new 10 round mags were legal to buy in New York. So more feel good legislation passed! Don't you feel safer New Yorkers! They quick rushed a law that leaves things the same way as they were before!)

New York actually allows the governor of the state to write and pass legislation without any input from the state house and senate? Incredible! I do not know of any other state where the governor is not only the head of the executive branch but is also the sole legislative branch member. Are you sure he is not the head of the judiciary branch as well?

I can't believe you are willing to set for letting felons who fail their bcakground checks just walk away. But then again you are willing to settle for a President who promised to close Gitmo and leaves it open, who promised to cut the debt in half and let it double, who promised to reduce unemployment but it remains stubbornly high at over 7%. Who promised to solve the immigration issue and still hasn't submitted a plan to be debated on. Who still hasn't submitted a budget to be negotiated on. But he has faithfully filled out his NCAA brackets and got to cross golfing with Tiger Woods off his bucket list.
Bravo!
The man couldn't even negotiate repealing DOMA, instead leaving it to the courts.

Fred, read C.R.S 24-33.5-424.

(5) (a) Upon denial of a firearm transfer, the bureau shall notify the transferor and send notice of the denial to the NICS system, pursuant to 18 U.S.C. sec. 922 (t). In addition, the bureau shall immediately send notification of such denial and the basis for the denial to the federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies having jurisdiction over the area in which the transferee resides and in which the transferor conducts any business.

That means if someone fails a background check the notification of denial is sent to the local authority to be investigated.
Simply failing a background check is not grounds for arrest.

But federal officials aren't following up on these notifications. The conviction rates are abnormally low, especially in high crime areas like Chicago.

Less than 1% of denials are because of criminal ineligibility. This link is from 2011 but it explains how many denials and investigations were performed that year.

So LJ expects local sheriffs to enfore the magazine ban which will be very hard to prove which are legal and which are illegal but she is willing to give a pass to Feds and State law enforcement when they fail to prosecute people for commiting an easily proven felony by lying on a 4473.

:smackshead: This is what the Sheriffs have been saying all along that the law is unenforceable.

LJ knows it is unenforceable she just likes to troll around and you are an easy catch for her.

I nominate Diana DeGette for idiot politician of the month. I realize it is a tight competition, but i think she has a good chance of winning!
