Ethics Complaint Filed Against Neugebauer [/url]
Posted: 04 Oct 2013 04:30 PM PDT
Today, Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW) filed a complaint with the Office of Congressional Ethics against Rep. Randy Neugebauer (R-TX) for conduct that reflects discreditably upon the House. Footage captured by NBC Washington on October 2, 2013, a day after the government shutdown began, shows Rep. Neugebauer nastily confronting a park ranger outside the National World War II Memorial. The congressman was angry the memorial had been closed, apparently oblivious to the consequences of his and his colleagues' refusal to fund government operations. "Rep. Neugebauer's mistreatment of a federal employee who was doing her job is disgraceful," said CREW Executive Director Melanie Sloan. "The blame for the government shutdown and the resulting closure of the memorials lies squarely on the shoulders of lawmakers like Rep. Neugebauer who refuse to fund our government."

Typical conservative BS. The park ranger was not "stopping" the veterans, she was waiting to escort the Honor Flight veterans into the memorial which while it was closed to the general public was open for those veterans. At least until the grandstanding republican congressman playing up to the cameras interfered with the visit to the memorial by the veterans.otisptoadwater wrote:
"I'm proud of you," Biden said, according to his office's Twitter account, revealing that the vice president had called the ranger to thank her for her service.

If the Gubment is going to shutdown and the Dumbocrats want to stick it to the public then gut programs like food stamps, the ObamaPhone, and Medicare. Closing a public memorial on the premise that NPS officers can't be there to ensure public safety is pure BS, the NPS doesn't staff the WWII memorial 24/7.
