Fox News proclaims era of Global Cooling has begun

I agree that if the global temperature should rise 8 degrees that in the next fifty years it would be catastrophic. I also agree that credible scientific evidence exists that the if efforts are not made to mitigate AGW that the global temperatures will continue to rise significantly. I am not yet convinced that it will rise 8 degrees during that time frame, but hold out reservations that it could. Most credible scientific evidence support that there will be a rise of 4 to 11.5 degrees during that time frame if action to mitigate does not occur.
See IPCC v5, NASA, etc.

What I do not agree with is that the era of global cooling has begun based on a single incident.

On this we agree :happier:

Something the Dog Said wrote: Really, you think so? As I stated, my purpose was to mimic our local troll who similarly cuts and pastes such drivel.

For example, one of his ongoing threads now is that liberals hate horses based upon efforts by the efforts of the Humane Society to stop horse carriages in NYC due to abuse of the horses. Yet you have no problem with that.

I get it now.

Stoop to what you perceive to be a lower level to prove a point.

That horse subject line was humor. I took yours the same way and poked fun at your grammar in response. Since I've found out you're attempting to prove a serious point rather than joining in on the fun, it's not funny anymore.

Life must be so simple if you define anyone who disagrees with you as a right wing hater who distorts everything.

Most of my sources are from respected sites. The majority come from a libertarian or conservative prospective and make reasoned points. The fact that not everyone agrees with the premise, logic or conclusions does not make them irrational or hateful.

The fu**** usual suspects on this board ARE right wing haters that give regular conservatives a bad name. When they post it makes me think of guys that are in their late sixties with half a raspberry bush jammed up their keester. The usual left wing hater suspects on this board give decent liberals with an open mind a bad name just the same. So really tired of checking this board and mostly seeing hypocrisy from both sides. Gerrymandering has gotten stale as hell.

BACK ON TOPIC: Basing a "cycle" on one event is ignorant as all get out, but not a surprising reaction. The media is like a pack of wolves that hasn't eaten in a month. How many days do we need to talk about how "cold" it is outside? 4 good? 8? Don't know but it's gotten boring. Twenty years really isn't that long (they've said it hasn't been cold like this in about that much time).
In my opinion the term "global warming" is outdated and deserves to be replaced with the more sensible "global climate change," although it's hard as hell because lefties and righties both want to howl about how it must be made up because they want to change the term. For cripes sakes, terms can be changed. I'm sure it happens a lot and people pick and choose which ones to whine about. Not even worth looking up. Problem is though, glaciers are melting at a faster rate than what new ice they're producing is, and far more feet per year versus thirty plus years ago. I'm tired as hell with peeps here, a ten or fifteen minute Google search oughta satisfy. Yes, I'm too lazy, as are a lot of people around here. Anyway, "global climate change" implies (TO ME) that it is mostly natural but that the bad habits of us humans are in no way helping the matter, if not contributing just at least a LITTLE to A LOT to the situation. I usually get ignored around here, but anyway, that's my opinion. Good day.

EDIT: I want to add that the effects of "global climate change" could be hard to pin down by science or the general public for that matter. Some of these effects could be why there's ships frozen to the core in the Arctic and then yearly glaciers are melting faster than they're producing new ice.

Here's another clip and paste job...

Another Ice Age?
Monday, June 24, 1974

In Africa, drought continues for the sixth consecutive year, adding terribly to the toll of famine victims. During 1972 record rains in parts of the U.S., Pakistan and Japan caused some of the worst flooding in centuries. In Canada's wheat belt, a particularly chilly and rainy spring has delayed planting and may well bring a disappointingly small harvest. Rainy Britain, on the other hand, has suffered from uncharacteristic dry spells the past few springs. A series of unusually cold winters has gripped the American Far West, while New England and northern Europe have...

Scientists have found other indications of global cooling. For one thing there has been a noticeable expansion of the great belt of dry, high-altitude polar winds —the so-called circumpolar vortex—that sweep from west to east around the top and bottom of the world.

So this thread needs to be retitled, "Stuart Varney, in a laughing aside, proclaims the era of global cooling has begun."?
