Donald Trump Has Stake In Hydroxychloroquine Drugmaker

President Donald Trump reportedly owns a stake in a company that produces hydroxychloroquine, the anti-malaria drug he has repeatedly touted as a coronavirus treatment even though his experts say there’s no strong evidence it works.

Trump “has a small personal financial interest” in Sanofi, the French drugmaker that makes Plaquenil, the brand-name version of hydroxychloroquine, The New York Times reported Monday.

In addition, Sanofi’s largest shareholders include a mutual fund company run by major Republican donor Ken Fisher, the paper said. Trump’s three family trusts, as of last year, each had investments in a mutual fund whose largest holding was Sanofi, according to the Times. Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross also had ties to the drugmaker, the Times reported.

Wow! Life saving drugs are being found and all you are worried about is if Trump makes money off it? You have achieved true partisanship! Why don't you invest in these generic drugs if you think they are such wealth inducing?
Read what George Conway, noted Trump critic, says about this latest partisan BS. One of the companies that Trump is invested in through his mutual fund actually sold that drug to another pharmaceutical company years ago.
There is plenty of stuff to roast Trump on, you don't need to make up crap.

Golly gee whiz, Fred, but you didn't get the point of my post at all. I've been wondering for days why Trump has been promoting the use of a drug about which his team has serious doubts. This article came up today, and perhaps he wants this drug to be used because he has a financial interest in seeing its success? It is his M.O., after all. Everything with him is about money. Do you now understand?

Koobookie,
You have been hoisted with your own petard. Much like CNN you neglected to look at the material yourself. Blazer Bob has laid out what President Trump's "investment" is and what vehicle made it, i.e. a mutual fund.
The CNN reference is to the fact that CNN will not carry the Corona Virus Task Force's presentations and as such, asks questions of guests that have already been answered hours before at the briefing.

Closer to home:
"A family practitioner in Denver, Colorado, said he has used hydroxychloroquine combined with an antibiotic to treat several patients for coronavirus and that they “all did well.”

Dr. Constantine Tsamasfyros, who has been in practice for almost 50 years, told a local CBS affiliate that he “prescribed a combination of hydroxychloroquine (also known as Plaquenil) and an antibiotic called azithromycin to about a dozen patients over the last few weeks.”

I have not made the claim that he is promoting this for his own gain, I have merely raised the question.

Oh, let's see. Hmmm.

No.

I guess I just don't understand conservative humor.
