You know, when Democrats (incorrectly) claimed that 2016 votes had been rigged, they didn't stoop this low to breaking the law and physically threatening elected officials. Shame on all the enablers of our President, and POTUS/some Republicans for spouting unConstitutional narratives, pushing lies over facts and stoking emotions so high that people are now storming our Capitol. The Rule of Law matters. Contest results of elections legally, and work to reform the election process if you think it's flawed, you do not seek to overthrow a valid election.

I never thought I’d live to see this day. We should be better than this.

U.S. Capitol Police have locked down all buildings within the U.S. Capitol complex as far-right demonstrations enter the Capitol building and continue to clash with police.

Police have alerted individuals to shelter in place, citing a "security threat inside the building." Staff have been urged to move inside offices, hide and lock external doors and windows.

House lawmakers are now being evacuated from the House floor. According to pool reporters, "banging" on the doors of the House floor by protesters is audible.

"Now, more than ever, the illusions of division threaten our very existence. We all know the truth: more connects us than separates us. But in times of crisis the wise build bridges, while the foolish build barriers. We must find a way to look after one another as if we were one single tribe.” -King T'Challa, Black Panther

The truth is incontrovertible. Malice may attack it. ignorance may deride it, but in the end, there it is. ~Winston Churchill

Congressional leaders retreated from the city to Fort McNair. Is it 2021 or the War of 1812? Some believe the Capitol Police allowed Trump sympathisers to access the Capitol Building. A civilian mother was shot and killed by police today. There was also a reported IED defused safely. No other violence was recorded, unlike the riots and arson reported in DC last Summer.

And while this "lockdown" was going on, the Dow reached a new record high today. Nothing to see here?

Curious that Donald hasn't made a public appearance calling for civility and calm. Biden is right now delivering a speech doing just that.

Oh? Have their been more peaceful protests that require calming?

In times of national unrest, when major events have occurred, the president usually makes some sort of remarks in person to reassure the public, the nation, that the situation is under control.

In the absence of leadership from the Trump administration, so far, Biden and Pelosi have filled the void created by the lack of presidential leadership.
