NO, OF COURSE u have to be firewise and back burn, hold the flammable material at bay, there is an APPROPRIATE WAY TO DO THAT ON A CONSISTENT BASES.again that was not done, because people did not want there privacy of trees and shrubs eliminated. AGAIN,the mountain community (especially the wealthy) wanted the same thing....HERE.
Ahhh . . . but the environmentalists do say don't introduce fire. Fire reduces the quality of the air (particulates, incomplete combustion byproducts, ozone), which California, and Colorado, already have issues meeting the requirements, so the fire to strengthen the fauna and improve its fire resistance, lower the fuel loads, provide carbon and other elements to naturally fertilize the soil, don't take place nearly as often as is necessary to properly care for the public lands. California had record rainfall last year . . . thanks to numerous "atmospheric rivers", and all of that precious water was flushed into the Pacific Ocean, and away from the already inadequate water storage in the State, for . . . wait for it . . . environmental reasons.
Californians, in an election, around 10 years ago, voted to devote around $5 billion to address the inadequate water storage abilities in their State, at a time when the State had a $100 billion reserve fund (since squandered). Not one new storage facility has been built with that money, not a single one. The ones they do have were left half full after a year of record rainfall to flush the water into the Pacific Ocean for the benefit of the Delta Smelt, which has been on the brink of extinction for decades now with no signs of recovery regardless of effort.
There is a LOT of water in CA from the Sierra Nevada mountains . . . and they could have used the $5 billion approved by the voters to build a pipeline to bring water from the north to the desert south to support the cities, but they didn't . . . environmental reasons, again, and environmental requirements, again, and good old-fashioned incompetence of leadership more interested in social activism than service to the populace put CA where it is today.
Ah, you and your facts again, PrintSmith. The left (and HA) could never admit that the root of the problem is the unhealthy power environmentalists have in that state. None of those people were elected, yet they have all that power and can not be held liable for bad consequences. It the Democrat leaders continue to allow that power to ultimately destroy the state, then the buck stops with the Democrats and they are the ones who should be punished at the ballot box. If these fires, the crime, and the massive influx of illegals don't wake the voters up, there is no hope for California.
Astrology is for suckers and has no connection to science
As they watch the LA fires, some Coloradans see their insurance policies not renewed over fire risk
A Nextdoor post shows the struggles of homeowners near Lookout Mountain who are trying to find insurance policies to cover their properties.
OH, OK.....now the California catastrophe of the century , has landed solidly in our state...not that there wasn't an issue before...Glad were r on the western slope......STATE FARM HAS YET TO STATE OUR ZIP IS UNSUSTAINABLE.
AGAIN, the lower basin states have been taking MORE THAN AGREED UPON SHARES.....COLORADO IS THE MAIN SOURCE OF LIQUID GOLD...(MY UNDERSTANDING)....if the Sierra Nevada rights r that plentiful then the fire hydrants would NOT BE DRY. .....BUT THEN i AM NOT A HYDROLOGIST
Environmentalists new goal is destroying dams. Let the water flow like Mother Nature intended it! They even took out a dam in South Park this Summer. Located below Antero reservoir.
Good luck getting any new water storage built, there will be teams of environmental lawyers trying to stop it.
Despite hydroelectric power being very clean.

RICK, I DO NOT THINK U WANT TO GO DOWN THE WATER ISSUE...
Oh, but I do, and your use of capital letters really doesn’t add anything to your argument btw.
I’d also like to talk about your Gaia god some more. Gaia s a god, right? I mean, if this invisible force has the ability to make decisions and punish people at will, it must be a god, right?
You do realize that the Santa Anna winds blow every year around this time, right? Has that been Gaia all these years or is it just a normal pattern based on the time of year? Up here in Red Feather it blows hard much of the time during the winter and for the life of me I can’t understand why Gaia would waste the energy on us. We (collectively) are not a rich community. Most of us can not use water for anything other than in home essentials… no watering grass, no washing cars, and we are not even supposed to have gardens or green houses. So why does Gaia feel the need to BLOW ALL F##KING WINTER LONG???
Please help me understand how your god works and why he/she/it hates us so much!
the Santa Anna winds r a regular factor and THAT is understood ,what is NOT being understood is the temp of the ocean currents have risen and THAT FACTOR has altered the NORMAL PATTERN...they came hard and faster than normal and the moisture normal expected in the timeframe was NOT THERE. Everything was dried to a crisp.thus the winds "ate"up everything in it's path......CLIMATE CHANGE,OCEAN CURRENTS WARMER EFFECTS EVERYTHING...speaking to your Red Feather location,it sounds like your realtor/or u did not understand that is a normal condition....JUST LIKE FAIRPLAY AND THAT GENERAL AREA....the winds blow all the time, the locals know that, but those who are looking for space and "and a deal"......have no clue....THE REALTOR,if a good one, would have given the client general info about the area, the land and the house they were going to put under contract.....
We have already covered the topic of GAIA and it's self regulating factors....u must have missed that or forgot the thread.......CLIMATE CHANGE CAN/WILL CAUSE MANY MISERABLE CONDITIONS....ONWARD GOING. (AS LONG AS Trump is Potus... i WILL CONTINUE HIS PRACTICE OF COMMUNICATION.....CAPPING SENTENCES HE WANTS TO EMPHASIZE (

I just caught. question and did not respond.
U have a misconception of the post./idea. GAIA is the planet EARTH,this orb that we call home. It is a solid mass within the vast number of galaxies. When I speak of Gaia,it is the very surface u walk on,live your lives on and r able to exist.,THERE IS NO OTHER PLANET/LIVING PLACE FOR MANKIND......LET THAT SINK IN. now think of your septic tank and leach field and the maintenance required to NOT be mired in your own shit.......SEE that image clear and concrete.....GAIA IS DROWNING IN SHIT.
Shameless Democrats! They are wanting you to donate through their websites to help out the people who are losing homes because California Democrats have ruined the state for decades,
They are not only getting your e-mail and other information, they are also taking 4% off the top of your donation.

So what, the climate is stable until it isn't? What you are saying is Gaia has been, and is, self correcting, for eons, and now is no different than 200,000 years ago. The climate is, and always has been, changing as Gaia self corrects. The difference between the Little Ice Age cooling and the present warming is a natural occurrence. And yes, the last Ice Age carved out the Great Lakes, continental drift has brought the Rocky Mountains to an area that used to be shallow seas.
Floods, droughts, warming seas, cooling seas, volcano eruptions, hurricanes, tornados, polar vortexes, atmospheric rivers, fires . . . none of it is new, it's earth's history repeating itself. The only difference is this time there are billions of humans instead of none, or thousands, or millions. We're the first species Gaia has ever produced with the ability to create dwellings where we control the temperature, cultivate our own food, and we're thriving as a result.
Something around 98% of the species that have inhabited this planet are extinct, Gaia self corrected them off the planet, but for some odd reason, we're convinced that every species that exists now is essential to the survival of ourselves and every other living organism on the planet . . . when did Darwinism, survival of the fittest, cease to exist? Why would we willingly trade the existence of the Delta Smelt for what is happening now in southern CA?
