Another reason why you should leave when directed!

How many resources are being pulled from other duties to do those welfare checks?

While I agree they should have evacuated, they may not have been able to get out. If the embers were already falling or the exit route was blocked it may have been too late to evacuate and they opted to shelter in place. I hope they're found and they're okay.

Make note of THIS....

The scanner feeds for Boulder county are loaded up with as many people as I have ever seen them.

This Boulder county feed currently has 1372 listeners on it -

http://www.radioreference.com/apps/audio/?feedId=591

Another one has 202 listeners and another has 145.

In the USA right now - Boulder county scanner feeds have 3 of the 5 most listened.

The link above has the most listeners in the whole country right now.

So some folks are interested in what is going on.

Just a tip for those who listen to those scanner feeds - if you use Winamp to listen, you can see the Alpha tags. You can not see the Alpha tags using the web player.

The Alpha tags show the frequency and or the digital talkgroups along with a description of what agency you are listening to. Not all feeds are broadcasting the Alpha tags - the Mountain Area feed does broadcast them.

Hey, I lived through them too and guess what? I did'nt evacuate. I stood my ground, and when I was awaken by Tsunami sirens at 4am on a pitch black Hawaiin beach in Febuary...I stayed right there too. I don't run- I like to meet life head on

Well, we went up to our Penthouse Suite on the 9th floor, but we were the only people left in the building, and there had to be 1000 people staying in that complex.... the entire town evacuated, my wife cried, a helicopter came up to our balcony and told us to flee to higher ground, but I wouldn't leave..The date is off in these pics, I set it wrong, but you know the tsunami was this year
