perhaps they think it isn't very friendly to be called names, told your ideas are stupid, have the ideals you ascribe to be ridiculed.....would you do business with someone who treated you like that?daisypusher wrote: Some people (at least one liberal that I know of) threaten not to do business with another here when they decide to be intolerant of their views. That is not very friendly.

It's a funny culture on a message board, most here are neighbors, but the way they treat each other is hardly neighborly.......I do think get togethers outside of the forum are a good idea, helps to put a human face on posters you only know by there words here. I like to think that under all that bluster are ordinary people I might very well like, but sometimes it's hard to imagine that with the animosity that is apparent in many threads.

It's too bad that you don't think that 'get togethers outside of the forum are a good idea'. Most on here disagree with you and we have a great time meeting and having lunch together. I know I have been to lunches with many people there and I was the only Conservative. There were even people I debated a lot with and we all got along great.

I am seeing a pattern here. I see the Liberals on here are the ones who take things a lot more personal than others and because of that won't do business with Conservatives that disagree with their opinions. I will never do that. I have even gone to hear LJ play in a band. I will do business with anyone on here even if we have had heated debates. Also I go to lunch with several of them at least a couple times a month. Interesting the differences in Liberals and Conservatives when personally dealing with neighbors.
