The same topics certainly could be, and sometimes are, in both (and sometimes a thread gets sent to the Ring because they go beyond decorum); the recurring problem with this is that people forget which forum they are in and then inappropriately post in the Courthouse what they should've put in the Ring. The Courthouse shouldn't be a forum that businesses are put off by when checking out this site. If everyone could pay attention to which room they are in, and what's appropriate for that room, that would help (a little self-moderation goes a long way...). I don't think we need a new forum, everyone just needs to follow the guidelines already set up of the forum they post in.

I would never think that any advertiser would be interested in advertising in the Courthouse or the Ring. But if you look at the number of posts and replies, you will definitely see that there is real interest on the part of the registered users on the site, to participate in the chaos that is in both.

It is a double edged sword, but definitely a strong reason for the quick success of the site.

Shock jocks have shown that the advertising dollar goes to the programs with the people that we love to hate. That is the direction that the local AM radio talk shows have gone and it generates advertising revenue.
