Comm Center Update

Good morning all. I have just read all the comments and PMs and I am totally shocked at the response.

Are you all sitting down? I hope so, because right now, I am going to say something I thought I would never say.

LJ, THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I AM NOW GOING TO TAKE YOU OFF IGNORE AND ATTEMPT TO CARRY ON A CONVERSATION WITHOUT ATTACKS, IF YOU WILL TRY, AS WELL!!!! I am overwhelmed by your generosity, as well as the reaction of AV's Good Twin.

Who knew????????? LOL, that something like this could have such an effect!!

Now to a serious note. Yesterday evening, I collapsed on my steps going upstairs. I am not looking for sympathy, or concern from any of you, just reporting something that needs to be said. I have let you all know that I am older than I have ever been, (tired old joke), and that my health is by no means the greatest. No, I did not go to the doctor or hospital. This morning, I feel almost normal. The point I am getting at is that stress of the nature of yesterday efforts are taking a toll on me. But, for those of you who know me, Park County is a passion for me. I am going to finish this particular project, see it through to a conclusion, hopefully a successful one, allowing us to get a petition signed to get this issue on the ballot for the citizens to decide, and then, I am done. Someone younger and healthier can step forward and continue to chip away at what is apparently wrong with the system in the county.

Hopefully I am not being seen as some kind of martyr, that is not what I am trying to do. I am trying to do something for my county.

i understand the stress - there are so many issues to address and only so much time. and there often comes a time when you have to say enough is enough. maybe after this one, time to not take the lead but join in the effort to get a few more out of office in 2012?

there are days when i will take the lead in denver canvassing or meeting with groups, etc. and other days when i can join others taking the lead and enjoy the camraderie.

whatever you decide thank you for all you have done!

Let the Papa and I know where you need us to help. I'm sorry I couldn't attend yesterday..

I received the County Commissioner's Legal response to the action filed last week. It is amazing that the Commissioners would rather take on the suit and continue to cram the Communications Memorial down our throats rather than take a moment of pause and listen to what the citizens are trying to communicate. Naturally, we will be following up and look forward to Oral Arguments.

Ours should hit you tomorrow... with the BOCC response of taking on the suit, does that mean they have to POSTPONE any more financing options and the like?? THANKS AGAIN to the TWO OF YOU and NMYSYS we hope your doing better....

Our help in covering costs for the filing is negligent I know, but we as a Community need to stand together to make certain that all avenues have been exhausted in options available for the Comm Center to continue. As AV8TOR mentioned earlier, the Community of Park County is not against having a COMM Center, but we do have the right and will hopefully to have the COMM Center in a location that is not going to see this County continue in the "red" by putting the burden of this cost on the taxpayers if monies that the BOCC seems to think is a guarantee from year to year do not come to fruition, because ultimately it will come to the taxpayers if the loans/funding etc. becomes default.

Thank you NMYSYS and AV8TOR for your forward thinking in helping the Park County Citizens have a voice in this very large expense which should be thought out more thoroughly by the BOCC and Park County Administration.

i have been in denver for some time volunteering so i am out of the loop and haven't read all the posts.

i read the article in the flume. thank you for taking a stand. i read the article to my dad who is now in a nursing home but used to head up a law firm. he shook his head and said it was sad that the commissioners continue to fail to listen or do what is in the best interests of the county (he used to live in the county) which gives anyone a right to file because of malfeasance or gross negligence.

i don't know what your long term plans are but do you plan on filing a summons and complaint? i am not altogether sure that you will get past the procedural aspects to the meat of your complaint w/o it.

i asked before but who is the judge? stephen groome has a conflict of interest since he has worked for the county commissioners previously.

i am not much help and don't want to interfere with your plans, considering i had no idea you were planning on filing an injunction to begin with. you might not want to discuss any plans online and i understand.
