UPDATE:

Ron and I filed the Response to the Commissioner's Motion to Dismiss doc.

We shall see if the folks of Park County will get a voice in their displeasure of this new project.

We just got the news that Judge Groome sold out to the political machine in Park County and turned down our Filing for an Injunction against the Commissioners. He accepted Attorney Lee Phillips' Answer that we had no standing to bring this filing to his court. IMO this prevented us from our day in court to prove that the Commissioners were exercising the right to spend freely with no regard for the citizens of Park County.

Both AV8OR and I tried our best and are now looking for ways to get this community more involved in what goes on in our County Government.

Thanks go out again to those who contributed to this cause, and to those others who have offered. There is now no longer need for contributions to this cause.

I do want to point out that the Chairman of the Republican Party in this county used his Bully pulpit in the Flume to chastise the two of us, both Registered Republicans and ought to be ashamed of himself. He lied in his letter to the Editor, as he has never done anything more than say hello to me. That was okay as an individual citizen, but IMO he had no right to do so from his position as the head of the party in the same publication. He has disgraced himself and the party IMO.

It might be an interesting side note that though the attorney asked for us to pay the court costs and his fees, the judge did not allow for that. The judge seemingly has forgotten the fact that Park County citizens overwhelmingly voted against him in the November election, but Chaffee county citizens who seemingly did not know his record, voted to retain him.

I, for one am extremely disappointed that he would not let us present our case to him in the courtroom instead of allowing the Attorney and Commissioner Tighe to try it in the newspaper.

Maybe it is time to post the email addr of the BOCC members and ask that people send them emails with their points of view on this subject.

I can't believe that this Judge wouldn't even hear what people had to say. I, too am very dissapointed... Isn't this the same Judge that showed such bad JUDGEMENT in the Vern Wagner case??

I wonder now how many people will be willing to serve as JURORS in his Courtroom??

I wonder how many people in this county were actually against the Commissioners spending this kind of money in this economic climate.

thank you for your efforts. not surprised that lazy groome who can't handle what he has on the docket and with his conflict of interest decided in favor of the county attorney and commissioners.

don't count on any responses to your phone calls, letters and emails to the commissioners. they are too busy spending money. but maybe with a mass effort they might listen to their constituents? i'm not quite convinced.
