Who said anything about hate?

Go to the original post --- it refers us to a link.

The link makes it clear that the author hates Muslims.
(actually - I think he uses the word "detest")

The link from the original post asks where Muslims were during the Civil Rights Movement.

I do not see how that cartoon made fun of the victims. It depicts them as dealing with it as best they can.

OP was about muslims as a whole. Now if you want to talk specifics great. Let's talk about it but making fun of their culture and them just because they are muslim is my issue. Once again I ask you to think about them as individuals. Lumping anyone is my complaint.

Is being sensitive to others feelings PC BS? Is not making blanket statements about an entire religion based on an extremist element of that religion PC BS? Is not spreading false rumors PC BS? Just exactly what is PC BS as it relates to this thread?

But they are a group. They are muslims as a whole. And as a whole they have characteristics in common and they act as a group. The group abuses women individually and as a whole. The women suffer as a group and as individuals. It cannot be separated.

You need to start reading about Islam, their laws, and their beliefs. You are posting what you would like for the world to be, not what actually exists in the Islamic world.

So what do you propose to do about it?

What does "who" propose to do about "what"? Your post is very vague.

Bad-mouthing Muslims does not make a person a better Christian or a better patriot.

The link shared in the original post says the following:

I love to expose the libbers in disguise that espouse their tolerance for ALL religions, all invaders, all of the enemies of this nation, especially the ones that have sworn to kill them.

Lousy grammar aside - I think Outdoor's intention was to expose President Obama, and to refute the President's claim that America has a Rich Muslim Heritage. He considers Muslims invaders and enemies.

Let's start with what the President actually said. The President's speech says the following:

I also know that Islam has always been a part of America's story.

The President goes on to give concrete examples of how Islam - more specifically - Muslim people - have touched American History.

Source:
http://www.whitehouse.gov/the-press-off ... ty-6-04-09

The purpose of the President's speech was to insist that Islamic culture drop its negative stereotypes of America. The intended fruit of those words is mutual respect. Unfortunately - some people insist on rejecting that intended fruit.

I find nothing in the President's words that I disagree with.

There's one paragraph that really raises flags for me:

Among some Muslims, there's a disturbing tendency to measure one's own faith by the rejection of somebody else's faith.

Outdoor has proven for us that some American Christians are doing the same thing as "some Muslims."

Islamic behavior and attidues are every bit as diverse as Christian behavior and attitudes. There are sects in both religions that marginalize women. There are sects in both religions that support corporal and capital punishment. There are sects in both religions that aspire to establish a world-wide authoritarian church. There are sects in both religions that reject - and even persecute various forms of entertainment.

If you go live with Muslims (4 years), you'll find that most of them have simple aspirations - not unlike you and me.

Jesus Christ in his time here on earth made at least one thing very clear. Our job as Christians isn't to fix someone else - it's to fix ourselves. Leave the rest to the Almighty.

I'm neither a Muslim nor a liberal. That said - I do not need to bad-mouth Muslims to be a better Christian, or a better patriot.

Great post Bailey Bud!

"Now, more than ever, the illusions of division threaten our very existence. We all know the truth: more connects us than separates us. But in times of crisis the wise build bridges, while the foolish build barriers. We must find a way to look after one another as if we were one single tribe.” -King T'Challa, Black Panther

The truth is incontrovertible. Malice may attack it. ignorance may deride it, but in the end, there it is. ~Winston Churchill
