“...the Lord has broken through my enemies before me, like the bursting out of great waters...”(2 Samuel 5:20, AMP)
God wants to give you a breakthrough — a sudden burst of His favor; an explosion of His goodness. He wants to release His power in such a way that it overwhelms you and drives out your enemies!
Maybe you’ve been praying about a relationship for years; and suddenly, things get into place. That’s a breakthrough. Or, you were trying to get a certain job. They said there were no openings; but suddenly, they call you back and you get the job. That’s another breakthrough. Perhaps you’ve struggled with an addiction for a long time; but then something happens, and it’s not a struggle anymore. Those are all breakthroughs.
No matter what you’ve been facing, no matter how impossible things look, know this: the God of the breakthrough wants to visit your house. Get ready! Look for His favor and goodness. Remember, God rewards the people who seek after Him. So keep expecting, keep believing because the God of the breakthrough is ready to overwhelm you with His goodness today!
A PRAYER FOR TODAY
Father in heaven, today I am expecting Your goodness. I am looking for Your favor. I’m trusting that You, the God of the breakthrough, are working mightily on my behalf. Help me to live a life pleasing to You as I wait for Your hand to move mightily in my life. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.

“...Keep each other's spirits up so that no one falls behind or drops out” (Ephesians 6:18)
It’s easy to be someone’s friend when they’ve got it all together, when they’re walking in blessing and prosperity. Anybody can believe in people after they’re successful, after they graduate, after they’re promoted, after they get their big break. But, people need our support the most before they get their breakthrough. They need us to look past their faults and failures and see their potential.
Most times, people just need a little “push” of encouragement to keep them moving forward. We should always put ourselves in the other person’s shoes and see things from their perspective. You may have some good advice that could save them a lot of heartache and pain. Don’t keep it to yourself. Pick up the phone. Help them win. Maybe you excelled in a college course that they’re struggling in. Don’t sit back and think, “Too bad. They’ve got to learn it the hard way.” No, you are the hands and feet of Jesus. When you help others rise higher, you are fulfilling His mission. Today, share your love, support and encouragement. Invest life in others, see their potential, and together, you’ll rise higher into the blessing God has for you!
A PRAYER FOR TODAY
Father God, thank You for giving me influence with the people in my life. Thank You for equipping me to help others rise higher. Reveal to me the potential You have deposited in the people around me and show me ways to help them so we can win at life together. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.

“For I am about to do something new. See, I have already begun! Do you not see it?” (Isaiah 43:19, NLT)
The God we serve is not a small God. His plan for your life is not for you to reach one level, get stuck and stay there for 30 or 40 years. His plan is to increase you, open new doors before you, and take you places that you’ve never imagined. He has something big in your future! He’s already planned out big breaks, big opportunities and big ideas for you. You may have seen God’s goodness in the past, but you have not touched the surface of what God has in your future! God is about to do a new thing!
And what I sense in my spirit is the new thing is going to be far greater than you’ve ever seen before. It’s going to be bigger than you imagined. It’s going to be more rewarding than you thought possible. Now you’ve got to come into agreement and say, “Yes, God, this is for me today. I’m not going to get stuck where I am. I’m not going to go around with little dreams, little goals. I know You’re a big God, and You have something big coming my way!”
A PRAYER FOR TODAY
Father God, thank You for loving me and choosing me for Your good purposes. I choose to set my affection on You today knowing that You are working behind the scenes on my behalf. Give me Your peace and strength as I wait patiently on You. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.

“It is an honor for a man to cease from strife...” (Proverbs 20:3, KJV)
In life, many of the challenges we face are simply distractions from the enemy to keep us from pursuing our destiny. Maybe someone in the office isn’t as friendly to you as you’d like. Maybe you have a neighbor who always parks in front of your house and blocks your mailbox. Those things may be frustrating, but they have little significance when you look at the big picture of eternity. You can’t allow the little things to cause strife in your life.
In scripture, just before David fought the giant Goliath, his brother Iliab tried to confront him. But David knew that arguing with Iliab wasn’t even worth his time and strength. He knew his real battle was with Goliath, and he didn’t want to be distracted. He simply “turned away” from Iliab and kept his focus on what he was called to do.
Let’s follow the example of David and keep our eyes on what’s most important in life. Instead of being led away by frustrations, let’s focus on the big picture. Know when to turn away from strife and receive the mark of honor the Lord has for you!
A PRAYER FOR TODAY
Father God, thank You for Your hand of victory in my life. Give me the wisdom and courage I need to walk away from strife so I can focus on the destiny You have prepared for me. I love You and bless You today and always in Jesus’ name. Amen.

“...Faith without works is dead” (James 2:20, NKJV)
Are you waiting for God to do something in your life? One thing I’ve learned is that waiting should not be a passive thing. When we’re waiting the correct way, we’re on the lookout. We talk like what we are believing for is going to happen. We act like it’s going to happen. We’re making preparations.
It’s just like when you’re expecting someone for dinner; you don’t wait till they show up before you decide to start cooking. Most likely you start early in the day. You make sure the house is clean, you go to the grocery store, and maybe you buy some flowers for the table. You make preparations because you’re expecting someone. Well, that’s the attitude we need to have while we’re waiting for God’s promises to come to pass. Put your faith to work. Prepare for the answer to come. Keep standing, keep believing, and keep hoping because your answer is on the way!
A PRAYER FOR TODAY
Father God, I choose to put actions behind my faith today. I trust that You are at work in my life. I will wait the right way — with expectancy — knowing that my faith in You opens the door for Your hand to move in my life in Jesus’ name. Amen.

“I have heard a report from the Lord...” (Jeremiah 49:14, AMP)
Every day we get “reports” from the news, our experiences, our friends and family, and many other sources. We also get reports from the Word of God, which oftentimes, contradicts what others are saying. That’s when we have a choice: do we believe what we hear in the natural, or do we believe the report of the Lord?
Friend, we serve a supernatural God! Just because we don’t see a way doesn’t mean that He doesn’t have a way. God can bring one opportunity across your path that will thrust you to a new level. He has explosive blessings that can blast you out of debt and into abundance. “Well, I don’t think I’ll ever get well. You should see what the medical report says about me.” No, that may be true according to medical science, but we have another report and it says, “You will live and not die. God is restoring health unto you.” With men it may be impossible, but with God all things are possible.
Choose today to believe the report of the Lord. Stand strong no matter what is going on around you knowing that He is leading you into victory in every area of your life!
A PRAYER FOR TODAY
Father in heaven, I choose to believe Your Word above all else. I know that You are working behind the scenes on my behalf, and You will cause me to triumph. Help me to tune out the negative voices of the world so that I can focus on Your goodness all the days of my life in Jesus’ name. Amen.

“You are the world’s light—a city on a hill, glowing in the night for all to see. Don’t hide your light! Let it shine for all; let your good deeds glow for all to see, so that they will praise your heavenly Father.” Matthew 5:14–16, TLB
Sometimes God will assign you to difficult people, perhaps a negative workplace with coworkers who are hard to get along with, who compromise, who take the easy way out, who play politics and backstab. You’re not there by accident. God has you there to shine brightly. He’s counting on you to be a good influence, to be grateful when they’re complaining, to have integrity when they’re compromising. He’s counting on you to show mercy when they’re judgmental, to see the best in people when they’re jealous, critical, and finding fault.
Light has the greatest impact in darkness. If you’re in the light all the time, you’re not going to be that effective. Quit complaining about the dark and let your light shine. They didn’t stop the blessing on your life. They’re not keeping you from your potential. God has you there on purpose. He’s going to bless you in that difficult place. You’re going to be an example of His goodness. You’re going to demonstrate a divine favor so that other people can see the hand of God on your life.
A Prayer for Today
“Father, thank You for the blessings that You have put on my life because I belong to You. Thank You that You have made me a light to the world, to those I know and see every day. I believe that as I keep honoring You, You will impact lives through me and draw them to You. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”

Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. 1 Peter 5:8, NIV
The enemy roars threats, trying to bring fear and cause you to shrink back, to live doubting, insecure, and unworthy. But if you quit feeding the biggest, strongest lion for a week, his roar will be a growl. In two weeks, the king of the jungle is not going to have the strength to attack. In a month, he’s too weak to get up. If you quit feeding him, he loses all his power.
In the same way, fear, worry, and doubt can seem too powerful to defeat. But if you quit feeding the negatives, if you quit letting them play in your mind, they will get weaker and weaker. You’ll get to the point where they can’t control you. Every time doubt or fear comes, that’s the roaring lion trying to deceive, manipulate, and limit. It’s your choice of whether you will feed it. Do yourself a favor and start starving those things. They lose all their power when you quit feeding them. Instead of feeding your fears, feed your hope, your faith, your confidence, your courage. Feed the promises of God and what He says about you.
A Prayer for Today
Father, thank You that when the enemy is roaring, bombarding my thoughts with doubts and fears, that I can resist him, firm in the faith. Thank You that I can choose to starve those thoughts and instead feed on Your Word. I declare that I will not be intimidated into backing down. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”
