Before You Even Call

Today's Scripture

“I will answer them before they even call to me.” Isaiah 65:24, NLT

There are things you’re concerned about now, dreams you want to accomplish, situations you need to turn around. It’s easy to get discouraged and think God hasn’t heard you. “Why isn’t it happening?” Can I encourage you that God has already taken care of it. He says, “Before you call, I will answer you.” He is always going ahead of you. He knows what you’re going to need in the future. He has solutions before you have problems. That’s why you can live in peace. You don’t need to be worried about your children, stressed over your health, losing sleep over your finances. God is ahead of you. He’s doing things right now that you can’t see. The hand of God is working, taking care of what you’re concerned about. The answer has been dispatched. Blessings are coming your way. Don’t let what you don’t see talk you out of what has already happened. It’s just a matter of time before you see things change in your favor.

A Prayer for Today

“Father, thank You that before I even ask You for my needs and desires, You’ve already lined them up and have them headed my way. Thank You for the people, the favor, and the promotion You’ve ordained to come across my path. I believe that, even now, answers to my prayers are on the way. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”

A Time to Give Thanks

Today's Scripture

Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name. Psalm 100:4, NIV

Today is a special day for us to give thanks to God for the good things He has done in our land, in our lives, and in the lives of our family members. When you take the time to pause and remember, you can see those times in your life when God brought you victory, brought you success. When you remember that He is providing for all your needs and give thanks to God for who He is and the miracles He has done in your life, you will be transformed.

And let us remember that thanksgiving is an attitude of our heart. Living with an attitude of gratitude means you don’t just thank God for what He did in the past, you also thank Him for what He will do in the future. You thank Him for opening new doors, for increasing you, and for bringing the right people into your life. When you thank God in advance, that’s really a declaration of faith. Live every day with an attitude of gratitude and thanksgiving.

A Prayer for Today

“Father, thank You that I can enter into Your presence with a heart full of thanksgiving. Thank You for providing for all my needs and doing exceedingly abundantly above all I could ever ask or imagine. I give You a sacrifice of praise for You are good, and Your mercy endures forever! In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”

A Specific Place of Blessing

Today's Scripture

Then the word of the LORD came to Elijah: “Leave here, turn eastward and hide in the Kerith Ravine, east of the Jordan. You will drink from the brook, and I have directed the ravens to supply you with food there.” 1 Kings 17:2–4, NIV

The prophet Elijah told King Ahab that because the people had turned away from Jehovah and were worshipping idols, there wouldn’t be rain for years. Then God spoke today’s Scripture to Elijah. Notice there’s a specific safe place where God has commanded you to be blessed—not maybe, not hope so. No, He’s commanded the ravens to feed you. He’s commanded provision, commanded resources, commanded the right people to be there. But here’s the key: The blessing was by a specific brook and provision was by ravens. If Elijah had stayed in Samaria, thinking that God would take care of him there, he would have missed the blessing.

When God tells you to do something, don’t reason it out, don’t ask friends, and don’t come up with alternatives. Just do it. Sometimes you have to leave a friend who’s pulling you down, or leave an environment where you compromise, or leave what didn’t work out and move forward into the new things God has for you. Be quick to obey what you hear in your spirit. God is leading you to your place of blessing.

A Prayer for Today

“Father, thank You for the times when You hide me from trouble and provide for all my needs. Thank You for the other times when You call me out of my comfort zone and take me where I’ve never gone. I look forward to being led to my place of blessing and whatever You want to do in my life. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”

Getting Prepared

Today's Scripture

Therefore Saul sent messengers to Jesse, and said, “Send me your son David, who is with the sheep.” 1 Samuel 16:19, NKJV

After David had been anointed to be the next king of Israel, he went back to caring for his father’s sheep. But then he was asked to come to the palace, not to be the king or an advisor, but to play his harp whenever King Saul suffered from depression. He could have thought, “Why am I being treated as a part-time musician? I am anointed.” But see how strategic God is. All David had known was the shepherds’ fields. Now he’s in the palace in the presence of King Saul. God is showing him what it means to be a king. He’s getting him familiar with how a king operates, protocols, the staff that serves him. David didn’t realize his task was divinely orchestrated. God put him there to get him prepared for where he was going.

Don’t think your place of blessing has to be exciting and so big that everyone notices. Many times, your place of blessing is being faithful with small things. God is making you and molding you, getting you ready for greater responsibility, greater resources, greater favor.

A Prayer for Today

“Father, thank You that You have given me gifts and a calling that no one can take from me. Thank You that You are taking me through a preparation process. I declare that I will pass the faithfulness test of being my best and get to the place of blessing You have for me. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”

Fuel for Your Faith

Today's Scripture

I will exalt you, LORD, for you rescued me. You refused to let my enemies triumph over me…you restored my health…you kept me from falling into the pit of death. Psalm 30:1–3, NLT

There are things in your past that should have stopped you. It may have been an illness, an accident, people who were against you, a bad childhood, but you’re still standing, still blessed, still happy, still victorious. That’s a sign the Lord is on your side. Just the fact that you’re here. If some people would have gone through what you’ve been through, they wouldn’t have made it. God didn’t let your enemies triumph over you.

Every challenge God has brought you through was designed as fuel for your faith. So when you face new challenges, you can say, “God, You did it for me back then. I know You’ll do it for me now.” You have a history with God. You’ve seen Him make a way where you didn’t see a way. You’ve seen Him have you at the right place at the right time. You’ve seen Him show you mercy when you made a mistake and turn it around even though you didn’t deserve it. When you think a problem is too big, go back and get some fuel. Remember what God has done.

A Prayer for Today

“Father, thank You for the history that I have with You and for the mercies that You have shown out in my life. Thank You that I can remember every victory You’ve given me and use it as fuel to build my faith. I believe You are standing beside me and refusing to let my enemies triumph over me. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”

Bursting at the Seams

Today's Scripture

“Enlarge your house; build an addition. Spread out your home, and spare no expense! For you will soon be bursting at the seams.” Isaiah 54:2–3, NLT

It may feel as though you’re stuck. You don’t see how you can accomplish your dreams. But God is not limited by your job, by your salary, by what family you come from. He is saying to you what He said to the Israelites, “Soon you’re going to be bursting at the seams.” He is not always going to take you down a normal, traditional path. You’re going to come into these times when He’s going to do something unusual, something out of the ordinary, something unprecedented, something that’s never happened in your family, never been done in your business. He knows how to get you into overflow that is not just a little more of what you have; it’s a new dimension. He’s going to give you resources, funds, opportunity like you never dreamed. He has increase that you can’t contain, promotion that causes you to explode to a new level. God has already ordained divine connections that will help you fulfill your purpose. You don’t have to see how He will do it. All you have to do is believe.

A Prayer for Today

“Father, thank You that You are the God who spoke worlds into existence, and You know how to cause me to burst at the seams with blessings. Help me to start taking steps of faith that open the door to Your favor. I’m going to keep believing Your Word and accomplish my dreams. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”

So What?

Today's Scripture

What then? If some did not believe, their unbelief will not nullify the faithfulness of God, will it? Romans 3:3, NASB

One of the biggest battles that we all face is the battle of containment. The enemy can’t do anything about the ground you’ve already gained, but he’ll do everything he can to try to keep you from going forward. His goal is to convince you to settle where you are. He’ll use other people to tell you that you’ll never be successful, that you can’t break an addiction, and they’ll throw water on what you’re passionate about. You have to quit letting people pull you down.

The apostle Paul says, “So what if they don’t believe?” Just because somebody doesn’t believe that you can do what God put in your heart doesn’t change anything. It doesn’t change the faithfulness of God to bring it to pass. Your attitude should be that you don’t need other people to cheer you on and support you. You and God are a majority. If God is for you, who dare be against you? Start encouraging yourself: “I’m strong. I’m talented. I’m well able. I will start living large. I will not be contained.”

A Prayer for Today

“Father, thank You that I can take control of my thought life and stop allowing negative thoughts to enter. Thank You that I can be deaf to the unbelief that comes my way from other people. Help me to get rid of any lies before they infect my thinking and keep me contained. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”

Fresh Winds

Today's Scripture

Saul was going everywhere to destroy the church…But the believers who were scattered preached the Good News about Jesus wherever they went. Acts 8:3–4, NLT

In the book of Acts, the Holy Spirit came like a rushing mighty wind and filled the disciples with power. They went throughout Jerusalem praying for people, seeing the sick healed, the lame walk, and thousands become believers. But then a great wave of persecution arose, and the disciples fled for their lives to Samaria and Judea and shared their faith. Had they not left Jerusalem, Christianity wouldn’t have spread. They would have just kept it for the Jewish people. God had to push them out of their nest. They were satisfied in Jerusalem, but what God had in mind was much bigger. Because of the opposition, the good news of salvation spread all over the world.

We often don’t know what God is up to. In real time, all we see is an adversity we didn’t choose—persecution pushed us out, a friend walked away, the contract didn’t go through, the medical report hasn’t improved. God is saying, “I’m still ordering your steps. Trust My ways when you don’t understand. You’re about to feel the fresh wind of the Spirit rushing over you.”

A Prayer for Today

“Father, thank You that You know what’s best for me, and You keep pushing me out of my comfort zone and into my purpose. Thank You for closed doors as well as open doors. I believe that You have something bigger, something better, something more rewarding up in front of me. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”

Everything You Put Your Hand To

Today's Scripture

The LORD will send a blessing on your barns and on everything you put your hand to. Deuteronomy 28:8, NIV

The blessing is an anointing on your life, which means God has marked you or set you apart. You are marked for favor—that’s where people are good to you and don’t even know why, where doors open that weren’t supposed to open, where you get promoted when you weren’t the next in line. You are marked for opportunity to come looking for you. You’re marked to excel in whatever environment you’re in—whether people are for you or against you, whether the economy is up or down, whether you’re getting good breaks or doors have closed. The blessing is the reason you keep rising up when circumstances try to keep you down. The blessing doesn’t stop the adversity, but it causes you to triumph in the trouble. With His blessing, deep down you know that God being for you is more than what’s trying to stop you.

Now do your part and have this blessed mindset. Get in agreement with God. All through the day, keep telling yourself, “I am blessed. Whatever I put my hand to today, I’m expecting God’s favor.”

A Prayer for Today

“Father, thank You for Your greatness and power and how Your hand has been upon my life in so many ways. Thank You for the countless blessings You have made happen for my good that I could never make happen. I believe that Your blessing is upon all I put my hand to. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”

Discover Your Greatness

Today's Scripture

And because we are his children, God has sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, prompting us to call out, “Abba, Father.” Galatians 4:6, NLT

It is so easy to forget who our heavenly Father is, to forget what He has done for us, and to limit what He wants to do in us. Too many of us think of Him like we think of our human parents who may not have been there for us, who made mistakes and may not have believed in us. That is not your heavenly Father. Your gifts, your talents, your greatness don’t come from your family; they come from Him. When He breathed life into you, He put His spiritual DNA inside. That’s how you can do something no one in your family has done. That’s how you break out of a limited mindset and make a difference with your life.

Because of who your heavenly Father is, you can defeat giants, accomplish great dreams, break addictions, and set new standards. There’s no limit to what you can achieve. There’s no obstacle you can’t overcome. There’s no financial struggle that can hold you back. Keep believing, keep dreaming, keep being your best. The greatness He put in you is about to come out.

A Prayer for Today

“Father, thank You that You are not just good, but You are my great Father. Thank You for every good gift that You put in me and for how You are going to cause my greatness to come out. I believe that You are going to accomplish more through my life than I can imagine. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”
