Winter Always Gives Way to Spring
Today's Scripture
Look, the winter is past, and the rains are over and gone. The flowers are springing up, the season of singing birds has come. Song of Solomon 2:11–12, NLT
You may be in a winter season, not seeing the favor, the growth, or the fruit you’ve seen in the past. None of us like to go through difficulties, but when you understand that without the winter you can’t see greater growth, greater fruit, then you don’t complain. Instead, you say, “Lord, thank You that I can do this season of taking care of my elderly parents, or when I’m not being treated right at work, or when I’m dealing with this illness.” Like a tree in winter, you’re gathering up sap, getting stronger. Your character is being developed; you’re learning to trust God in a greater way. You wouldn’t be in winter if God didn’t have something bigger coming. The fact that your branches are bare is a sure sign that increase is coming.
You have to know that winter always gives way to spring. God is about to do a new thing. This spring season is going to bring great joy, great favor, great health, great relationships. It’s going to be favor, opportunity, and influence greater than you could imagine.
A Prayer for Today
“Father, thank You that You change the times and seasons of my life, and You know what is best for me. Thank You that You’re always working behind the scenes on my behalf. Help me to stay open to what You’re doing and not be stuck in the past season. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”
