Provision Through Humility

Today's Scripture

They brought the jars to the widow and she kept pouring. When all the jars were full, she said to her son, “Bring me another one.” But he replied, “There is not a jar left.” Then the oil stopped flowing. 2 Kings 4:5–6, NIV

In 2 Kings 4, a poor widow had no money to pay her creditors who were coming to take her two sons as slaves. The prophet Elisha told her to borrow as many jars as she could from her neighbors and pour the little bit of oil she had into the jars. How did that make sense? But she took that first step of obedience, humbling herself before her neighbors, and never questioned the prophet’s word. Had she not kept pouring and pouring, she would have missed her miracle and lost her sons and livelihood.

Always do what God is asking you to do. The first steps of obedience may not bring change, but that doesn’t mean something is wrong. The good news is, you’re about to start pouring out what you have and suddenly the healing comes, suddenly you’re promoted, suddenly you meet the right person, suddenly you see the breakthrough. Don’t get discouraged. Don’t let pride get in the way and stop you. Keep walking in humility. Keep doing the right thing. You are close to your miracle.

A Prayer for Today

“Father, thank You for the gifts and talents and resources that You have already given me. Thank You that You can take what seems like it’s not enough and make it flow into abundance. I believe that You are going to multiply what I have and show out in my life. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”

Gifts from Above

Today's Scripture

“…how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask him!” Matthew 7:11, ESV

God is going to bring gifts across your path that you’ve never seen—forgiveness, favor, wisdom, mercy, abundance, relationships. They are gifts. You don’t have to force them out of God’s hands. You don’t have to talk God into giving them. You don’t have to perform good enough. Just be a receiver. “God, You promise that whom the Son sets free is free indeed. I receive that freedom right now. You say my latter days would be better than my former days. I receive a bright future. You say my children will be mighty in the land. I receive that by faith.” Now thoughts will whisper, “You’ve seen your best days. Nothing good is in your future.” You have a choice. You can let the gift sit there and think, “You’re probably right. I want to be blessed, but it’s never going to happen.” That’s self-sabotaging. Do yourself a favor and receive God’s far and beyond favor. “Heavenly Father, I receive the gifts, the promises, the abundance, the great relationships, a long healthy life, and a bountiful, productive, abundant year.”

A Prayer for Today

“Father, thank You that You are constantly showing me Your goodness, with every good gift that comes into my life. Thank You that I can receive Your gifts of grace and believe the promises You have spoken are coming true. I will live today with an attitude of thankfulness and gratefulness. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”

Doors You’ve Closed

Today's Scripture

“Behold, I have set before you an open door, which no one is able to shut.” Revelation 3:8, ESV

It’s easy to lock doors to areas of our lives because of fear, because we think we don’t have the talent or qualifications, because of hurts, or because of mistakes we’ve made, times we’ve failed. You may have gone years with a locked door, thinking it could never happen. Your time is coming. You may have shut the door, but God is about to come through it. Don’t be surprised when doors open that you tried to keep closed. He’s going to present you with opportunities that seem way over your head. Don’t shrink back. You are well able. The fear may not leave, but you’re going to feel a new confidence, a new boldness—that’s the Most High God breathing in your direction. He’s about to take you where you could never go on your own. Those doors you closed didn’t stop your destiny. God knows what’s in you. He knows what you’re capable of. He’s not going to let fear or the negative things people have spoken over you hold you back. He’s about to do something better than you imagined.

A Prayer for Today

“Father, thank You that You are the doorkeeper of my life. Thank You that You have the power to open doors that I’ve closed and bring new opportunities that will take me to new levels. I believe this is a new day to be bold and break free from the limitations that I’ve set for myself. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”

A Year of Favor

Today's Scripture

“The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to set the oppressed free, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.” Luke 4:18–19, NIV

Jesus knew the power of words to set the direction for our lives. He knew that you have to hear victory, abundance, healing, and freedom declared over you for it to come to pass. As you start 2026, I want to declare a blessing upon you. If you receive it into your spirit, it has the power to unleash God’s favor.

I declare this will be a year of God’s favor for you and your family, with healthy relationships and good friends, the right people who are ordained to help you reach your destiny. I declare you are blessed with wisdom, that you have clear direction, that you make good choices in life. I declare new doors are going to open, with unexpected blessings, good breaks, promotion, success, and creativity. I declare you are blessed with good health, with vitality and energy. I declare freedom from every bad habit, recovery for everything that was stolen. I declare that from this day forward you will experience a new sense of freedom, a new happiness, a new fulfillment. I declare you are blessed.

A Prayer for Today

“Father, thank You for Your blessing and favor on my life in this coming year. Thank You that You are opening doors that I can’t open, putting me at the right place, bringing the right people, taking me where I could not go on my own. I declare that I am blessed. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”

Who or What Defines You?

Today's Scripture

The fear of human opinion disables; trusting in GOD protects you from that. Proverbs 29:25, MSG

We know that God calls us a masterpiece, valuable, fearfully and wonderfully made, but sometimes our circumstances contradict who God made us to be. It’s easy to let our environment change our identity. When we go through unfair situations and disappointments, when people walk away or talk negatively about us, we can lose who we are. We let those circumstances change how we see ourselves. We feel inferior, not attractive, not good enough. We’re adapting to the environment. But your environment doesn’t change what God says about you: “You’re blessed, favored, healthy, and free.” This is what faith is all about. You have to dig down deep and say, “My environment will not define me. I am who God says I am.”

Have you let negative circumstances change your identity? Shake off those lies, break those strongholds, and start seeing yourself as God sees you. You’re a history maker, a barrier breaker, successful, talented, and valuable. The dream God put in your heart is still on the way. You’re still going to become who God created you to be.

A Prayer for Today

“Father, thank You that I don’t have to look to someone else to tell me who I am, because You have already told me that I am Your masterpiece and prized possession. I declare that my identity and value is securely in Your hands and I’m not looking to others. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”

The Smile of God

Today's Scripture

Jacob said, “Please. If you can find it in your heart to welcome me, accept these gifts. When I saw your face, it was as the face of God smiling on me.” Genesis 33:10, MSG

In Genesis 33, as a little boy, Joseph saw his uncle Esau forgive his father’s wrongs, show him mercy, and be kind to his entire family. He knew that his father had cheated Esau. He saw his uncle being good to someone who didn’t deserve it. He saw Esau being the smile of God, and that took root in Joseph’s heart. Fast forward to Genesis 45 where Joseph, now the prime minister of Egypt, forgives his brothers who sold him into slavery and thirteen years of misery. Treating them with kindness and caring for their families, Joseph became the smile of God.

How you treat people who have hurt you sets an example for your children. If they see you being hateful, holding grudges, making disparaging remarks, they’ll grow up doing the same things. But when they see you being merciful and kind to somebody who hurt you, not only are you passing the test, but your children will follow in your footsteps. More than your words, your example makes an indelible impact on your children. You’re teaching them to be the smile of God.

A Prayer for Today

“Father, thank You for all of the times when You have loved me and smiled on me when I deserved neither. Help me to be forgiving, merciful, and kind to those who have done wrong to me. I want to be Your smile to those who don’t deserve it and an example to anyone who is watching. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”

Created to Shine

Today's Scripture

God himself has blessed you forever. Put on your sword, O mighty warrior! You are so glorious, so majestic!...Go forth to perform awe-inspiring deeds! Psalm 45:2–4, NLT

We know that God is glorious, but do you realize that God created you to shine? You have greatness in you. But too often we don’t recognize who we are. We see ourselves as ordinary. “I can’t do anything significant. I’m not that talented. I can’t accomplish my dream. I don’t have the education. This giant is too big to defeat.” We can all find excuses to shrink back and settle for mediocrity. But the psalmist is saying, “Don’t you realize that you’re not average? God has blessed you. You are glorious. You’re a mighty warrior. Your God has anointed you. You’re not supposed to just make it through life. There are awe-inspiring deeds in you, things God destined you to accomplish that will boggle your mind. There are victories that will catapult your family forward and promotion that will thrust you to a new level. When you defeat giants, it will give you greater influence, greater respect.” He’s saying, “What are you doing shrinking back, living with an ordinary mindset, when God says you’re a mighty warrior?”

A Prayer for Today

“Father, thank You that You created me in Your image and want me to shine. Thank You that You have equipped and are empowering me to be strong where I feel weak and less-than. I believe that You are transforming me into a mighty warrior for Your honor and glory. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”

Continual Forgiveness

Today's Scripture

One thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead. Philippians 3:13, NKJV

We all have opportunities to get upset and be offended. A coworker is rude, someone cuts you off in traffic, or a friend leaves you out. It’s easy to get sour, try to pay people back, or hold a grudge. We don’t realize that’s poisoning our life. That offense is like a toxin. It’s not affecting the other person; it’s souring our joy, taking our peace. The apostle Paul had all kinds of opportunities to live offended. Religious leaders lied about him, some coworkers walked away, others turned against him. But Paul had a system of release. He said, “One thing I’m good at is letting things go, not taking the offense, not dwelling on what happened yesterday. I put all my energies into reaching to what’s up ahead.”

You can’t stop offenses from happening, but you have to continually release the hurts rather than dwell on what someone said or did. If you hold on to that offense, it’s going to keep you living in yesterday and keep you from reaching forward. Forgiveness and letting go should be a continual thing.

A Prayer for Today

“Father, thank You for the freedom that comes as I let go of the offenses and negative baggage from the past. Thank You that I can treat those things as dead and buried and focus all my energy on moving forward. Help me become an expert at forgiving. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”

Do Good to All

Today's Scripture

Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers. Galatians 6:10, NIV

Joseph spent thirteen years helping other people solve their problems, doing the right thing even though everything he was experiencing wasn’t fair. When he was being his best as a slave in charge of the household of Potiphar, when he was being his best as a prisoner in charge of the prison, when he was being his best interpreting the dreams of fellow prisoners and then Pharaoh, God was watching. He saw Joseph making sacrifices to be good to others, and He promoted him to being the prime minister of Egypt.

Sometimes the reason you can’t solve your own problems is because what you need is found in solving someone else’s problem. God sees you helping others when you need help, encouraging a friend when you need encouragement, praying for a neighbor’s healing when you’re fighting an illness. While you’re helping others, what you can’t see is that God is helping you. As you help someone else shine, He is going to make sure that you shine. You don’t know the blessings that are connected to you helping someone else rise higher.

A Prayer for Today

“Father, thank You that You give me the opportunity to help other people solve their problems. Help me to keep my eyes open for the people You bring me to serve and bless. I believe that as I take my hands off my own problems, You will put Your hands on them and help solve them. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”

The Restorer of Years

Today's Scripture

“So I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten.” Joel 2:25, NKJV

You may feel like you’ve been in a season of lost years. You’ve invested so much in your business, in accomplishing your dream, or in dealing with an illness, but it looks like it was wasted. The locusts came in and ate up your harvest. Stay encouraged. Payback is coming. God is keeping the records. He’s going to restore opportunities that you missed, relationships that are not what they should be, the years you struggled with depression or loneliness. He’s even going to restore the years you lost not making good decisions, giving in to compromise. You don’t have to live in regrets, thinking you missed your season, that it’s too late to accomplish your dreams or have good relationships with your family. God knew we would make mistakes. He’s not going to just redeem you; He’s going to redeem the time. He’s going to give you another chance. Don’t believe the lies that you’re too old, you’ve made too many mistakes. You wouldn’t be reading this if God wasn’t about to restore all those harvests that belong to you but you missed out on.

A Prayer for Today

“Father, thank You that nothing is too hard for You to work out in my life, not even the time I’ve lost in the past for many different reasons. Thank You that You work in ways so far beyond anything I can think or imagine. Help me believe that You will restore what I’ve lost. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”
