Conifer Radio has been pleased to be a part of the CHSM -Conifer Historical Society and Museum's - Oral History Program. And this week we further launch this special opportunity for the residents of our US 285 Corridor.

Our CHSM Oral Histories program captures - in audio format - the stories of our "elder states-persons" (us folk who have lived up here for many years) and the stories of our mountain community culture. For the benefit of our newer residents, these stories bring forward the 'look-back' on how Conifer has changed and how important it is to preserve why we love living up here.

We had in Studio at the Museum Ms. Erin Thatcher, President of CHSM, Ms. Carla Mink, Vice President, and Mr. Bret Roller who joins us as an Oral Histories Volunteer to present how fun and meaningful this program has been thus far.

We are inviting those of you who would like to nominate a deserving resident to this program to go to www.ConiferHistoricalSociety.org to submit the name (or your name?) as a deserving Oral Histories participant.

Please log in today, February 12 at 5 pm to www.ConiferRadio.com and/or then again each evening as this promotion repeats from Thursday through next Tuesday, February 17 at 6:30 pm.

Recorded live on February 11th, we were in mobile Studio with two very special people, Vivian Rosso and Krismas Ellis, two special volunteer leaders with the story of our Chances Scholarships program. Including the story of Chances Scholarships (and their 5-fold increase in student applications), we are announcing their big event On April 5th from 1-5 pm! Chances is having a silent auction at the Aspen Peak Cellars winery (which is basically a big party at Marcel’s and Julie’s!) … You can learn more, register for the auction and donate a prize or… BE A SPONSOR… at www.bailey-colorado.org/chances-scholarship

We also offer a big shout-out to the Platte Canyon Area Chamber of Commerce which has also served as a leadership component of this effort. Again, you can learn more about Chances Scholarships at www.bailey-colorado.org

Lastly, our THANKS to Kris and Vivian for their tireless work on behalf of and in support of our local Platte Canyon area students.

We hosted live in Conifer Radio’s Studio at the Museum Dr. Graham Anduri, Director of Ovation West Theatre Company to talk all things Colorado Gives Day for 2025.

Today at 5 pm and every evening thereafter at 6:30 pm, Learn about how you can help to address the need in our mountain communities. Dr. Anduri has graciously, for the second year stepped forward to Chair the Mountain Area Nonprofit Coalition for 2025 in support of this effort. It goes without saying that many of our local nonprofits have lost (or will be losing) much of their federal grant flow-through funding. This year more than ever, our local area nonprofits need our help.

Colorado Gives Day early donation period has begun... Simply go to ColoradoGives.org and search for the Evergreen Creative District Nonprofit Coalition who are hosting the page for our Mountain Area Nonprofit organizations ... or you can Click to the following: www.coloradogives.org/group/2ofjze

Learn more on Conifer Podcast each evening this week.

On behalf of all our mountain area nonprofits, Give Where You Live.
Sincerely,
Mark
