Republicans are pushing hard on a plan to end Medicare as we know it. They're trying to replace it with a ludicrous privatized system where seniors are given vouchers to try to buy coverage from private, for-profit insurance companies--the very same companies notorious for denying them coverage.
These libs believe the lies, look at the one spreading them in this thread..if she runs her household the way she wants obama to run this country, we will have no more coutry!
You'll hear a lot about Medicare costs in the next few months, as Republicans push not just cuts, but the outright destruction of the program.
But...Medicare costs are going up because ALL health costs are rising. The solution is to focus on health care costs, and further reform -- not gut the ability of patients to pay them.
Personally I think Ryan's plan is just a negotiating tactic. The Dems can say they stopped this and Ryan will give it up to see no more money for Planned Parenthood and NPR. That is the way politics works.
Thomas Sowell: There are no solutions, just trade-offs.
Sorry... I misspoke... It's 84% of the American People...
Have some more :Koolaid: yourself, since you seem to enjoy it so much...
20. (IF MEDICARE SHOULD BE CHANGED) What if the cost of private insurance rises faster than the value of the vouchers, so seniors have to pay more of their own money for health insurance? In that case, would you support or oppose replacing Medicare with a voucher system?
