see thread on Jimmy Carter....Texans want him gone from Texas, so will push for him to be president.

You sure that's Texans and not just Texan?

yes......I'm sure, and if you do a few google searches and actually read past the headlines, you will find a lot of anger at Perry for what he has done to education in Texas, for what he has done to the budget in Texas....it's a total disaster, they have a huge deficit, and for what he isn't doing for healthcare, the poor, the hungry, and the unemployed. All those jobs came at a very steep cost to the state and it's quality of life. What has saved Texas is the heavy presence of oil companies, we all know how well they are doing. It wasn't Perry who brought in all those jobs, the oil industry brought in many of them, and Perry is just the lucky beneficiary of being the governor of an oil state.

I lived there for 12 years and still have a lot of friends there, they are pretty vocal on pretty-boy Perry.

Yeah, a guy who thinks prayer can save his state from drought isn't smart enough to lead this nation. Be religious, whatever, but when you prefer to let some God take care of your problems, rather than doing something about it yourself, then you're just a weak, spineless, IQ-challenged moron who shouldn't even be governor let alone President of the United States.

"With areas of Texas facing the worst drought since the dust bowl of the 1930's, Perry called for a three-day prayer for rain in April. However, the problem has only gotten worse since then.

Prayer is a powerful thing. But as greenhouse-gas emissions spew uncontrolled into the atmosphere and heat waves get more intense, causing dangerous smog to form in urban areas, praying for an end to EPA regulations is not exactly sound environmental policy for a presidential candidate to be advocating."

It's Texans, plural (although Texan is perfectly willing to foist him off on the rest of us if it gets him gone from there).

Kay Bailey Hutchison, Texas Governor Rick Perry was asked point-blank whether he would serve out his term if re-elected—or whether he consider throwing his 40-gallon hat in the presidential race. He was unequivocal: Nothing short of an untimely death could drive him out of Austin. "I have a lot of faith in the Lord I hope he's gonna let me live for four years and if he does I'm gonna serve out my governorship," Perry explained.

Fast forward to today...

Is that all you can come up with Wayne? He sees a need to serve in a larger capacity. Did you ever change your mind about anything?

Changing your mind and going back on a promise to the voters to get elected are two different things.

Interesting....especially in light of all the posts here bashing Obama for breaking election promises. I guess conservatives don't hold their own to the same high standards they hold democrats.
