How can it be considered a 'community' without a Taco Bell? There should be one every few blocks! Very close to KFC, of course.
The corridor needs a new shopping center (or 2 or 3) with a Taco Bell!!
Oh, and some of those really bright lights that shine up in the sky to advertise it, so people can find it at night. And lots of BIG used car lots, well lit at all hours, of course.
Oh, and a large recreation district, so folx can brag about how they are providing everything needed to keep the kids occupied, and prevent them from getting fat. Of course, must have transportation to get the kids to the rec centers, it wouldn't do to have them walk somewhere to get exercise.

AGREED!!!! Would LOVE a Taco Bell up here!!! :woo hoo: Just think of the business they would get!!!! Especially now that we have so many MMJ outlets you see now in the Park. Seems everybody is smoking, growing and selling now. Everyone's got the "munchies"!!!! WE NEED A TACO BELL, open 24-7!!! Oh ya, and a "Krispy Cream" for our "freeloaders"! rofllol
What is the title of this thread Viking? No. I neither need nor want another half empty strip mall up here. For some reason you love them. I still believe you must have a connection either with the developers or with the property managers to feel the way you do. My hope is that after bankruptcy the rents at these malls drop so that small businesses can make a go of it. No, I don't want more chains up here and yes, I'd like to see no new zoning issued for retail until the properties that currently exist are at least 75% full.
See, when the ditto-heads chime in and say, "Rush was RIGHT!! Obama is doing everything wrong! We WANT him to FAIL because he's messing everything up!", then that's okay...
When I say that the a**holes that scraped that land and crammed their project through the crooked County Commissioners planning & zoning commission, and greased the skids to make it happen without ANY public input, should fail... I WANT them to FAIL because they messed everything up... Then somehow, that's NOT okay...
I call b.s. Insert standard: "It's not the same thing" garbage here: _______________________________
It's EXACTLY the same thing... I disagree; I have a RIGHT to disagree... and last I heard, the phrase was "FREE" Enterprise--with the emphasis on "FREE"... I am FREE to avoid doing business with people who are messing up my neighborhood...and I am FREE to encourage others to do the same. You don't like it? You probably have me confused with someone who gives a sh*t... If it fails, perhaps they'll crack the code and not scrape any more hills down. I don't care if it was rocks and dirt-bike trails before... You know what it wasn't?...It wasn't lit up with mercury lights from sundown to sunrise....

OH you have the right to want companies to bankrupt and shut down and people to lose jobs all you want. It just speaks volumes about your character and anyone who defends your actions.

I guess I missed something. Where are they planning on building a new strip mall? What new zoning is planned? Or are we still complaining about the ones that have now been here for years? And WHAT exactly does that accomplish? Hoping that companies shut down that are already employing our neighbors?
I'll ask again Viking; how long have you lived up here? I suspect you are very young so I'll give you a short lesson. If you don't fight for the things you value someone WILL take them away. I value my quiet mountain community. I value having a personal connection with everyone I do business with. Staubachs is NOT a local company FYI.

But the people who work there ARE local neighbors and they NEED those jobs to feed their families. I am sure they would love to hear that people like LJ are trying to get them shut down and help them lose their job because they don't like lights. Real class act. I have lived here 9 years and have many friends who have lived here over 20 or 30 and NONE of them complain as much as a small handful of you do. So What are you fighting for? There are no more plans for any more strip malls. Are you guys just complaining to hear yourselves speak?
If it is so important to you and LJ and others to NOT support places up here that you want shut down so families lose their income, then why don't we just post your names in those establishments. I am sure you guys are proud of your actions right? Or is it just a behind the scenes thing telling others to not shop there and try and get them shut down? I am sure you guys are not THAT cowardly are you?
