Since my basic premise is that religion is a joke and the so-called "pastors" that practice it are about as relevant as a ham sandwich at a Jewish wedding, I really don't care what the "black pastors" think.
Here is your problem, and you have a lot of work to do because it's a lot more than a few black pastors you don't care about.
You have to figure out all the places you should boycott because the owner or president supports gay marriage. And by your definition (from what I've read), that would include any owner who donates money to his/her church, if that church does not support gay marriage. That would include a lot of democrats too. Good luck in your quest to eliminate half the country from your tiny, angry mind.
But yes, you have every right to boycott any business you wish, even if it's half of them and even if I think it's dumb (not that it matters). The biggest issue here IMO is the polititians trying to deny a business the right to exist just because they disagree with the owner's beliefs. Talk about job loss of innocent workers if they succeed. Not to mention it is most certainly unconstitutional. If they do deny the business based on what the owner thinks, I hope they get their asses sued and we'll see what happens in the courts.

? It is not that I believe "in boycotting in this instance". If enough people boycott and the chain fails, that is how the market works. Personally, I have never eaten there and in fact have never heard of them until this came up.
Apparently a lot more people are going out of their way to eat there then are boycotting.
85-95% of the restaurants are franchises, owned and operated by the local business person. Yes, they have to pay their fees to headquarters, but they own and run the local restaurant.
If you want to boyott Chick-fil-A because of the president's gay marriage beliefs, shouldn't you instead put in a little effort to know what the actual owner of the franchise believes? We've already seen at least one case where the local owner believes differently. Otherwise, why work to kill the local restaurant and cause the loss of jobs?
In a way this reminds me of the liberals that said they'd leave the country if George Bush got elected or re-elected. They were full of crap and never did leave, but they claimed they would give up on the whole country just because of who was the President, not that it should of really mattered all that much.
True, the boycotts will affect local owners and their employees more than the CEO. A big thank you to VL from all the employees who had to make up the money he stole from the Chick.

I would like homosexual marriage to be legal but if you choose to boycott Chick, realize you aren't really hurting the CEO. Currently most of America still wants same sex marriage to be illegal.

"Just because I think that blacks and whites shouldn't drink from the same water fountains doesn't make me a bigot."
So if that is what you really believe, can we ask if you voted for Clinton and Obama? Just asking, but if you did, then you are a bigot from your own arguement because they disagreed with gay marriage when they ran.
And have you seen any significant case of seperate water fountains for gays, or can you educate us who advocates that?
