So if that is what you really believe, can we ask if you voted for Clinton and Obama? Just asking, but if you did, then you are a bigot from your own arguement because they disagreed with gay marriage when they ran.

And have you seen any significant case of seperate water fountains for gays, or can you educate us who advocates that?

Obama has been a homophobe most of his life until he wasn't, then was, then wasn't. Silly isn't it?

The left is angry because they are now being judged by the content of their character and not by the color of their skin.

85-95% of the restaurants are franchises, owned and operated by the local business person. Yes, they have to pay their fees to headquarters, but they own and run the local restaurant.

If you want to boyott Chick-fil-A because of the president's gay marriage beliefs, shouldn't you instead put in a little effort to know what the actual owner of the franchise believes? We've already seen at least one case where the local owner believes differently. Otherwise, why work to kill the local restaurant and cause the loss of jobs?

In a way this reminds me of the liberals that said they'd leave the country if George Bush got elected or re-elected. They were full of crap and never did leave, but they claimed they would give up on the whole country just because of who was the President, not that it should of really mattered all that much.

Yeah, we're still waiting for Limbaugh to leave...He said he would if the Affordable Health Care Act passed...

I would like homosexual marriage to be legal but if you choose to boycott Chick, realize you aren't really hurting the CEO. Currently most of America still wants same sex marriage to be illegal.

Sometimes bad things happen to nice people... Them's the breaks...

And perhaps if sales fall off enough the CEO will realize that donating millions of dollars to bigot causes has consequences.... (And in the end, I don't care if the CEO "cracks the code or not"... I'm not going to spend any of my money there, and if you don't like it, gee...I'm heartbroken...)

OK, then we both agree how dumb it is to say you'll leave the country over one issue or individual.

So please respond to my main point in that post. Isn't it stupid to boycott a locally operated franchise just because you have an issue with the president of the company's personal beliefs? Especially so since it will mainly hurt the local owner and the employees even if you have no idea what their thoughts are?

No..It isn't stupid, and I will continue to do so. If you don't want to, isn't it nice that you are free not to.

Since I've answered that question about three times, how many more times would you like for me to repeat it before you "get it"?

Really?

First, a new Pew poll finds that public attitudes on same-sex marriage have moved consistently in favor of same-sex marriage:

The survey finds a continuing rise in support for same-sex marriage since 2009. Currently, 45% say they favor allowing gays and lesbians to marry legally while 46% are opposed. In Pew Research surveys conducted in 2010, 42% favored and 48% opposed gay marriage and in 2009, just 37% backed same-sex marriage while 54% were opposed.

Hmmmm... 46% to 45%... Yeah, that doesn't exactly strike me as "most of America"... Maybe "most of right-wing bigot America'... But a 1% difference is hardly "most of America"...And in a few more months I predict it will be the majority in favor of it. But hey, I realize how hard it is to accept that it's not 1889 any more.

OK, I will modify that. Most of the voters of America don't want to give homosexuals the right to marry. No states voters have ever approved same sex marriage, only legislatures and judges.

Hopefully this will change, but over 30 states still make it illegal and four more states are voting on it this November.

Here's a question for liberals... when Obama proclaimed before his election that he believed that marriage is between a man and a woman, did that mean at that time he was a homophobe? And why didn't a single lefty in the entire country protest against Obama for having this "hateful" opinion? I don't even remember anyone on this board complaining... not even a little.

I think you didn't complain because you knew it was just his opinion about marriage, not that he hated gay people. Seems reasonable to me, except when the Chick-fil-a pres. makes the same statemment, then he MUST hate gay people. What am I missing here?

The left is angry because they are now being judged by the content of their character and not by the color of their skin.

Double standard? If he is your guy, you will forgive him for lying to get elected? Or you will not hold him to a higher standard because a Republican would have the same opinion.

Were Hilary and Barack both homophobes supporting Bill Clinton's DOMA?
