Self-serving political considerations can have the salutary effect of spurring Congress to investigate wrongdoing in the executive branch, as in the House GOP's Fast and Furious investigation.
It can also bring out the partisan's inner humanitarian.
Before Fast and Furious, I never recall the conservative movement giving much thought to dead Mexicans. But now that the body count can be attributed to a bureaucracy run by Democrats?
The right is invoking the tragic deaths of foreigners with great frequency.

Now, I guess we'll see if one day of record-business from the ditto-heads will overcome the next several years of the boycott by the rest of the population that refuses to spend their dollars there.
(I wonder how that boycott of Oreo cookies and J.C.Penny's is doing?....) lol
Chick-Fil-A put up record sales this week... probably some of the best sales numbers they'll ever see. No matter how you look at it, it's all downhill from here... they'll never do the same-day-sales they did on their day of religious support again.
I'm all for everyone having their opinion, and honestly... I've been thinking about this more and more, and my posts earlier in this thread were probably not fair. The more I research, the more I find accusations of unfair treatment of employees, questionable hiring practices, etc., but proof is few and far between that active discrimination has gone on save for a few cases settled out of court. Most times, these were over religious beliefs that have nothing to do with being gay. The only one I can find support for is their donations to "scared straight"-style groups.
The culture may be questionable in a free-thinking world, but not everybody has to be free-thinking and open to all ideologies, it's admirable that they stand by their beliefs, and it doesn't change the taste of the chicken at the end of the day. I won't be one who will boycott Chick-Fil-A, but I hope to see their opinions evolve as their leadership gets younger. They have an inclusive message to the public, they're not outwardly hostile to customers, and as long as those qualities remain... I think this thread is pretty correct in that there are much bigger concerns than their CEO's visions of marriage.
