Latest on FaceBook about the Chick: "Why aren't all these Christians lined up to work at food banks or help out at shelters like Jesus actually asked them to do?"
RCCL,
I actually disagree with you. I believe the controversy will blow over. I remember a similar boycott of Dominos pizza because the owner supported anti-abortion groups, but now you never hear about it and Dominos is stil going strong.
Anything you should boycott but like the product too much to give it up?
Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream: they support liberal causes, but I like my Cherry Garcia too much.
Leatherman: Tim Leatherman supported Kerry for President but I love their Leatherman Wave too much to stop buying them.
Levi's Jeans: They support liberal causes, especially in California, but I love my 501's still.
Thomas Sowell: There are no solutions, just trade-offs.
Here is an idiot, angry bully who didn't rip Chick-fil-A off for $80, just a free cup of water. But that water was very expensive since it cost the bully his job.
Here's the press release from Vante announcing that Smith is "no longer an employee of our company," effective immediately:
TUCSON, AZ--(Marketwire - Aug 2, 2012) - The following is a statement from Vante:
Vante regrets the unfortunate events that transpired yesterday in Tucson between our former CFO/Treasurer Adam Smith and an employee at Chick-fil-A. Effective immediately, Mr. Smith is no longer an employee of our company.
The actions of Mr. Smith do not reflect our corporate values in any manner. Vante is an equal opportunity company with a diverse workforce, which holds diverse opinions. We respect the right of our employees and all Americans to hold and express their personal opinions, however, we also expect our company officers to behave in a manner commensurate with their position and in a respectful fashion that conveys these values of civility with others.
We hope that the general population does not hold Mr. Smith's actions against Vante and its employees.

Wow. Saw this last night, but didn't know the guy was an executive.
Real courage, picking on some girl in a drive through. If he supports homosexuality, why doesn't he work to make homosexual marriage legal instead of being a bully.

I have not payed much attention in the past- but I'm starting to now. My grandfather was very aware of where he spent his money- and he would not be a customer to any product that did not align with his belief system.
I won't and never have have purchased that hippie ice cream. I recently discovered blue bell ice cream- you should give it a try sometime, and it's made by real Americans who believe in America.
I stopped buying 501's years ago. I find that the wrangler jeans are just as good, fit better and cost less than 20 bucks. I can buy three pairs for what I used to pay for one pair of 501's.
I will not buy heinz catsup anymore- hunts is just as good and I know my money isn't going to communists.
Yes- I'll be more picky in the future about where my money is going- for instance- I will not patronize any establishment that posts "no guns allowed".
This I just became aware of this last month- Rocky Mountain Gun Owners now keeps a list of those businesses who ban guns- it's called the Merchant Report Form. You can use this form to report any business who bans guns (concealed) or open carry.
Then we can all be more aware of those we spend our money with- after all- I don't want to provide any more support for leftist causes than I am forced to by the government.
Amid all of that CFA-appreciating success, the Church (at least, the part that exists here in America) failed miserably. Every member of the Church isn’t to blame, of course. Many individual churches and denominations played no role whatsoever in promoting yesterday’s Great Chicken Awakening. Some Christians, churches, and denominations even tried to throw a social media wrench into the festivities. Some of those attempts went viral and garnered a great deal of attention. But still, chicken-loving Christians everywhere rallied behind CFA yesterday. The crowds were so big that you might have thought that Chick-Fil-A was giving away free iPads or Cabbage Patch Dolls or freshly fallen manna from Heaven. And while lots of Christians chose not to participate for various reasons, many did and the Church as a whole suffered.
