Nice article RY. Shop at thrift stores too! It's cheap and recycling!

Ok FHR I think you are my go-to-girl for this question:

I would like to switch my whole family to more natural products for the items listed below. They have to be affordable, TRULY organic (no SLS and that is why I'm asking you) and easy to find (down the hill is fine). Heck, even something out of my pantry would be good by me.

1. Shampoo (a dandruff version too would be great because we have one person who wants this from time to time).
2. Conditioner (we have every hair type from fine to thick)
3. Body soap
4. Lotion
5. Cosmetics

Those are my top 5 to start with if you have any suggestions. Thank You!!!!!!!!

SG: just as a clarification :) FHR and Royal Yoga is both me, because I have several businesses (and another one related to yoga, OmShanti Yoga Wear). I don't log in as FHR that much (you know how the RE market is right...), I am answering your questions as Royal Yoga. just wanted you to know. I posted the info about my two nics a long time ago, so not to deceive anyone.

Ok, to your questions:

1. Shampoo (a dandruff version too would be great because we have one person who wants this from time to time).
I personally use Burt's Bee (sugar beet and grapefruit, makes my blond hair extra shiny without chemicals etc) not sure if they have the dandruff one
2. Conditioner (we have every hair type from fine to thick)
I don't use because it makes my hair too heavy
3. Body soap
again, Burt's bee Baby shampoo and wash (the gentlest I have ever used, I even use it for my face and I had acne roscea and skin cancer)
4. Lotion
2 options: Mineral Fusion, or after taking a shower and still wet putting pure jojoba oil all over my body, then gently rinse and just pat dry (ancient ayurvedic secret)
5. Cosmetics
I don't use, except mascara and eye pencil (I used to buy that from melaleuca but I am not a member anymore)

I suggest checking out
Organic Wholesale Club - you can receive a free membership in the Organic Wholesale Club and special discounts on all the products and supplements, Organic Wine Company, Organic Meats, Organic Seeds, Raw Foods etc.to get special discounts put omshanti (all lower case as written) into the promotion box at checkout and you will get the 5% discount and free membership along with other perks and specials
store.organicwholesaleclub.com/affiliate...iliate=2&Target=Home

and also, if you consider organic food, I get my produce and veggies from www.doortodoororganics.com , delivered to my door (Bailey), fresh every Wednesday, look at that site too, many options to chose from and no commitment.

Hope this helps

It would be fun to share links and information.

Here is my first one

The Story of Cosmetics - New groundbreaking animation about the deadly chemicals in personal care products (and yes it has to do w the environment too, as all this stuff goes into our wells and groundwater as well)

Can't wait to see your links, info etc!
