No Such Thing as a Free Parking Spot
It's not just driving our cars that harms the environment, parking them also poses a problem.
The world may be headed to 2 billion vehicles this century, thanks to the burgeoning love affair between the Chinese and the automobile. But consider this: where will all those cars park?
If urban planners are right, finding parking for all those vehicles might be no problem. City gurus estimate there are eight parking spots for every vehicle in the U.S. today. Given a U.S. fleet of 250 million vehicles, that means America already boasts some 2 billion parking spots—an area roughly the size of Massachusetts.
I wish this article had been more comprehensive, as it only deals with solar, but it's a start...
"Now, more than ever, the illusions of division threaten our very existence. We all know the truth: more connects us than separates us. But in times of crisis the wise build bridges, while the foolish build barriers. We must find a way to look after one another as if we were one single tribe.” -King T'Challa, Black Panther
The truth is incontrovertible. Malice may attack it. ignorance may deride it, but in the end, there it is. ~Winston Churchill

thread. I know there are lots of people out there who really care about the environment, healthy living - isn't that the reason we all are living in the mountains - we love nature! and we want to enjoy it, so we need to take steps to protect it.
It would be fun to share links and information.
Here is my first one
