Not all of them. Some act as a conduit for private sellers who do not require FFL dealers, state or national background. And they ship through the mail to your home address.
Plus, as you said, you can order them from gun dealers online and have them shipped via mail or carrier to a local dealer. So you can mail order semi automatic weapons as Mr. Costa said.

Semantics. If I get a home based FFL, I can get firearms shipped to my door, but getting a home FFL requires a background check.
The original mail order gun delivery before 1968 was much more permissive than what is allowed now.
And I don't know what you are talking about with a private conduit avoiding background checks. I know a firearms manufacturer that was shut down by the ATF for doing what you are saying.

:rofl What a moron- Maybe he needs to do more research and less emoting.
little douche talks again. "What a moron, maybe you should talk only about what you know" Oh sorry, guess you wouldn't been able to talk about anything. rofllol

Have to agree, when we buy a guy for our annual gun raffle, the guy we buy from, tells us all the time it is getting tougher and tougher with the rules. He does not know of any private conduits that avoid the background checks.
You guys live in a different world from the one I live in.. Legally you can't walk across a road unless youre on a crosswalk but everyone does it all the time and I can buy a gun in 5 minutes without a "background" check? Who would do this "background" check anyway? I give the guy the cash, he gives me the gun and thats that...What the hell are you guys talking about? Guns are everywhere and readily available- Maybe some of you need to push yourselves away from the keyboard and go outside once and awhile
And Fred, when you find yourself in a hole, quit digging. You were wrong, you don't know what you're talking about, and you need to aknowledge that in front of everyone here...Man up

I have a Curio FFL and get all the publications from the ATF so I am pretty up on this subject. A curio FFL is for collectors and you have to go through a background check and have your local Chief Law Enforcement Officer sign off before the ATF will get you one. And even then, most of the guns I can get delivered have to have been built over 50 years ago, so made before 1962.
A real home FFL is very hard to get anymore. ATF prefers to only issue FFL's to brick amd mortar stores with regular hours. And with any FFL, the ATF is allowed to inspect your inventory and records when they want.
There is no http://www.AmazonForGuns.com out there.
And to VL's point, face to face sales are still legal in Colorado and don't need a background check.

I included a link to a private forum auction site that facilitates the sales between private individuals that do not require a FFL.

At least Fred now acknowledges that Mr. Costas was correct in that it is possible to obtain semi-auto firearms through the mail. Perhaps he could be so gracious as to offer an apology?
