While my friends were in the Boy Scouts building Pinewood derby cars I was flying missions in CAP, and at no time in my life did I consider signing my life away to the Air Force. I'm a free thinker, and this is my one and only life

Gee, it's a good thing that Obama was willing to sign legislation to undo what the TeaPublican Randrioids deliberately left in-place when they pulled their little shutdown. Since the teabaggers had already been warned that it would happen, and chose to do it anyway, it looks like Obama was willing to bail out the Neanderthals again.

Once again our resident bigot who has nothing to offer other than name calling wishes to overlook the facts as they exist. The reason there is a partial shut-down of the government is that the Democrats will not negotiate. They shut down many dot gov websites, but not the one for the federal health exchange. Obama chose what to shut down, the proof is in the pudding. It wasn't the Congress that decided to suspend death benefits for the families of the fallen, it was the Obama administration which chose to do that. It wasn't the Congress that decided to spend money Barrycading scenic overlooks and open air monuments instead of death benefits for the families of the fallen, it was the Obama administration which chose not to let any potential crisis to to waste in their efforts to inflict as much pain on the population as they possibly could to try and gain an upper hand in the debate.

The government is parially shut down for one reason and one reason only - Obama will not negotiate in order to govern. He has issued 1200 waivers from the (un)Affordable Care Act, arbitrarily delayed the employer mandate for a year, made live a web site on which millions of dollars were spent that was months, if not at least a year, away from being sound enough to do the job it was created to do, and yet he will refuse to delay the entire law for one year, or even a few more months, while he negotiates a compromise with the loyal opposition, choosing instead to dig in his heels, and partially shut down the government because of his refusal to negotiate.

The Republicans have given him numerous options from which to choose. They were willing to fund all of government except the (un)Affordable Care Act for another couple of months while talks continued, but that was a non-starter. They were willing to fund the government while delaying the whole law for the exact same length of time the president chose to delay personally selected parts of it, but that was a no go too. They have sought to fund the various departments with separate legislation, but since that ultimately does piecemeal what the first option did in one stroke, that's a non-starter as well, except, of course, when the president rightly feels the heat from the populace regarding what he and his administration selected to shut down with the intention of causing outrage. Unfortunately for him, that strategy is backfiring on him because the responsibility for what is temporarily mothballed while talks continues falls solely under his purvue and not that of Congress.

But hey Jazzer, you keep on calling names. Rational people are always swayed by schoolyard tactics like that.

I think he was actually a Sky Cap. (Not that there is anything wrong with that.)

Laws are constantly being modified, in fact your man Obama, gave corporations a year off from ACA. (Thanks for those donations, right?) Private citizens, your fines & taxes start on New Years a new type of hangover.

I've been saying for years and years and years now that Obama is the lesser of two evils..Sometimes much lesser but mostly not much. Then you idiots post polls showing that Obama has low approval ratings as if democrats are going to vote Republican next time,(lol) when in reality we dislike Obama because he is too far to the Right
