Is Christie done?

So now that it comes out that the Fort Lee bridge closure which endangered tens of thousands of commuters, causing major havoc to the local economy and delays in businesses and schools were all a result of political retribution by the Christie administration against a local mayor who refused to endorse Christe's campaign for governor. Today it was shown that it not only was directed by a Christie ally, appointee and close friend of Christie but went into the actual Christie administration and appears likely to have been ordered by Christie himself. Should he be forced out as governor, or will be celebrated as a likely Republican nominee for President?

The leading newspaper in NJ is calling for his ouster if he had any knowledge whatsoever. Christie has claimed that he conducted an investigation and no one on his staff had any involvement, yet emails were discovered between his deputy chief of staff and his political appointee discussing this shameful event weeks prior to the closure and laughing about the havoc that it caused afterwards. Who is lying? Interesting that Christie has canceled all public appearances today.

I think it depends on how effective Dem anti-Christie commercials would be... otherwise, I doubt 97% of the population knows or cares about that issue. I think Hillary's inept performance as Sec of State and the "what difference does it make" comment are more damaging. But we will see, Hillary and Giuliani were suppose to be a lock pre 08 and we know fast that turned around. I think speculating this far in advance is like predicting the weather a year from now.

Story broke too soon.
I think Christie will have a bigger issue with his anti-gun votes.

Because he performed his official duties by accepting federal disaster aid from President Obama in order to serve the citizens of New Jersey?

He was done a long time ago. Although the media keeps pushing his name out there as a likely presidential canidate, I think he is way to liberal to ever be considered for the republican presidential ticket.

In no way is he even close to being considered a liberal, however he is probably too close to the center of the voting public to be considered a viable GOP nominee for the tea party which apparently is in charge of the Republican Party. As a progressive voter, I say keep running those extreme right wingers out there. Let's go Calgary Ted, Santorum, Perry, etc. It can only help Hillary.

As an INDY.....I found it refreshingly "righteous" that he was BI PARTISAN during the weather
crisis.....and basically stated "GET OVER IT"....I'M DOING MY JOB......I think he will have the
vote of the Independents because of his "take no shit" stance......BUT, there is a l-o-n-g
stretch of time before anything is concrete.......JMO

Dog, since you are a big supporter of Obama's "Chicago tactics" of intimidation and using your power to punish opponents, I would assume you will be a big supporter of Christie then? (if the story is true).

Too bad future generations aren't here to see all the great things we are spending their $$ on!!

Whomever is/or was tied to that gridlock on the bridge should be fired. We seem to be in a stagnant rut where politicians can do whatever the hell they want and all we do is howl and never get any results. The whole thing doesn't even come close to surprising me though. Not..a..bit.
