Worldwide Fast Food Strikes Today!

:sarcasm: Oh come on guys, if two people in Detroit get hired in February of 2013 and two people in Cleavland also found employment in July of 2013 then what's wrong with Barry or Jay "Canary" saying something along the lines of "...approximately 10 people found meaningful full time employment recently..."?

That's flawed logic if it's not an out and out lie; All men with long hair are hippies therefore all hippies are men with long hair. Tell the truth, there are too many parameters to consider to calculate precise numbers for employment and the current administration is using the magic of statistics to publish numbers that aren't even close to the approximated truth.

Pure math is very politically incorrect, you're right or you're not. Statistics are the tool that politicians love because all they have to do is be selective about their sources and they can come up with any number they like to support their statements (even and especially when they need public support because the truth could get them impeached or not re-elected.).

I can explain it to you but I can't understand it for you.

"Any man who thinks he can be happy and prosperous by letting the Government take care of him; better take a closer look at the American Indian." - Henry Ford

Corruptissima re publica plurimae leges; When the Republic is at its most corrupt the laws are most numerous. - Publius Cornelius Tacitus

Since trickle-down hasn't, doesn't and won't, it's a great idea to get thousands off of SNAP, off the rolls of the hungry, and decrease the number of WalMart employees they DUMP on the welfare rolls so the taxpayers can subsidize their sh*t tactics.

It's like global climate change... You can deny it all you want, and in the end...the SCIENCE doesn't change... And the earth is still not flat...

Heck, if that so called logic has any validity, let's forget about $10 and hour and jump straight to $100/hr. That'll pump 10x the amount of money into the economy and really get things rolling, right?

Of course the only thing that it will get rolling is inflation, which is precisely what the bump to $10/hr will do on a smaller scale.

But you are right about one thing, the concept doesn't change simply because the bump is smaller instead of larger. The increase in the minimum wage will simply drive up the cost of goods and services, devaluing the monetary unit above and beyond what deficit spending does. What it really is is an attempt to levy a tax on the people who have lent the federal government money. By devaluing the currency the price of the money already borrowed drops since the dollar doesn't buy as much as it did when it was first borrowed. That's the game the Democrats are really trying to play here.

The numbers are the numbers... It's kind of like science:

The good thing about science is that it's true whether or not you believe in it.” -- Neil deGrasse Tyson

The nice thing about non-partisan numbers is that they are true, whether or not you believe them.

Injection of money into the economy trickles-UP... We already know that trickle-down hasn't, doesn't and won't.

Actually trickle down hasn't been disproven, you just think it has. Let's look at countries that practice income equalization like Cuba, Maoist China, and Stalinist North Korea, the people are much more poor than the US. And have little opportunity to get ahead, wheras in the US, at least 12% will be in the 1% sometime in our lives. China went from your sociallist model to a capitalist program and hundreds of millions of people have started earning real money.
But that won't stop you from using your tired memes.

I saw the signs of the protestors saying "We are worth more".

They may very well be worth more. But the skills they are utilizing in doing the job to which they are hired are not worth more.

That seems to be what everyone is loosing sight of - Fast Food companies are not placing values on people, they are placing a dollar value on a skill set. If the people choose to offer only that skill set, they should only recieve the dollar value assigned to it. Any more moeny that that is simply a welfare payment - that's the government's job.

So what does Obama do? Give more money to Wall Street and the banks. Who was the last one to send checks to Americans? George W. Bush.
