'Good Guy With A Gun' stories

First, I'm glad that I don't live in fear of being shot in public or of bad guys breaking into my house to kill me. I feel sorry for the people who do and who pack heat everywhere they go, just in case.

Second, the Right is who brought up the "good guy with a gun argument," not the Left. The way I understand it, the more armed citizens there are, the more "good guys with a gun" there will be to step in and stop a bad guy with a gun.

EVERETT, Wash. - New details have emerged connected to a shooting at Silver Lake in Snohomish County on Wednesday. Everett Police say man shot twice Tuesday has passed away.

Witnesses of the shooting say the man who was shot had been chasing families with weapons and striking others before a bystander pulled a gun shooting him twice.

Where do you live Wayne and what is the crime rate? I don't live in fear, but I do work at a place where there is a whole lot of crime all around the area. When I lived in Conifer back in the 70's we didn't lock our doors and even left the keys in our cars because we were isolated from the crazies. Now I live among the crazies, the criminals, and the drug addicts. My carrying a weapon (at times) doesn't harm anyone and never will unless I find myself in a situation where I have to defend myself or someone else. It's my choice and it's my right. If you live somewhere where this is very little chance of ever needing a weapon, good for you.

Costa Rica has higher crime (albeit, petty crime) than the U.S. The murder rate by firearms per million is the same but that's because Costa Rica counts suicides as "murder." I have no idea why. Here are the rest of the stats of Costa Rica vs USA:

www.nationmaster.com/country-info/compar.../United-States/Crime

We never locked out doors when we lived in Pine Junction and we lived there for 22 years (until 2015). We were never victims of a crime at our house that entire time and neither were our neighbors. The only crime we ever encountered was having one of our cars broken into at the old Safeway parking lot.

Statistically, crime wasn't a big danger to us (or our neighbors).

In all the years you've been carrying a gun for safety, have you ever had to pull your weapon?

Rick, it would be a GOOD conversation to understand your thoughts on the link provided. (NO sarcasm,
just straight up talk about the rampant and rabid mindset being discussed in the link )

There's different risks for different areas, obviously. I see scumbags arrested pretty often where I work on Colfax and I get alerts on my ring alarm network daily from the Lakewood area where people are reporting gunshots and crime. I wish I lived in a place where I didn't have to lock my doors or be concerned for my daughters who may be at risk, depending on where they work or live.

To answer your question, no, I've never had to pull my weapon and hopefully never will. I've also never been saved by a seat belt or airbag, but I'm glad I have them if I do need them. I believe in my right to protect myself and my family in any legal way I choose. I also know that police only show up after a bad guy with a gun has started shooting people. I may never be in a situation where I can help to protect someone else, but if I do one day, I'm pretty sure that person and their family will appreciate me being there. You have the right to disagree.

Since you are asking me to comment on a link, would you be so kind as to tell me how you would summarize the web page and how it pertains to our conversation? I'm happy to discuss, but I should know where you stand if we are going to have a two way discussion.
