Well, never mind. I've been reading accounts and looked at few videos of the highlights of this rally and frankly, it didn't deserve my attention. Pretty much what I thought, a bunch of emotional flag waving, references to God, and not much else. The ghost of MLK has nothing to fear about his image being co-opted by this mediocre, self-serving non-event.
It is about whatever YOU think it is about, since you won't respect anyone else's answer any way. Enjoy your thread with all your fellow Kool Aid drinkers.
I'd love to hear your answer as to what it meant. I may or may not disagree with it. Maybe you've confused disagreement with lack of respect?
And if you want to talk about disrespect.....the whole dismissive "you're drinking the Koolaid" thing is way beyond disrespectful.
I formed my own opinons by inquiring and watching as much of the rally as I could considering I couldn't be there or watch it live. How is that "drinking koolaid"?
There's nothing honorable about lying -- Beck claims the date was pure coincidence.
There's nothing honorable about lying -- Beck claims it's not a political rally.
My favorite line from today's news came from yahoo's account:
Clarence B. Jones, who served as King's personal attorney and his speechwriter, said he believes King would not be offended by Beck's rally but "pleased and honored" that a diverse group of people would come together, almost five decades later, to discuss the future of America.
Take a look at the photos ---- what exactly is "diverse" about that crowd????

Nothing to see here, folks --- move along......

Words of wisdom from one of the people I most respect in the local internet community.
It is perplexing that the same man who wants us to return to God is the same man who wants to ban place where people can worship God near ground zero. Oh wait, the God he worships.
And how can he say he supports MLK when Dr. King was all about social justice and federal intervention to help the less fortunate? Beck has repeatedly vilified the words "social justice" as code words for communism or (depending what day it is) socialism.
