Honestly? I don't believe we would miss the dept of education one bit. Education should be a local issue, not national. Get rid of the DOE, institute true school choice, and watch our education system flourish.
Too bad future generations aren't here to see all the great things we are spending their $$ on!!
I definitely enjoy bashing Liberals that continually make these kind of remarks about the Tea Party Movement, because it shows me that your bias is against real attempts at changing the status quo of huge government, spreading the wealth and advancing Socialism instead of allowing the free market system to work its magic as it has proven to do.
I have to agree the DOE is nothing but a giant bureaucracy that sucks up taxpayer dollars on the way up and on the way back down. With the way US student rankings have dropped worldwide what good has the DOE done? Keep those dollars local and keep school control local.
