New Coroner/ New Truck?

Even with 14( if they were all ParkCo residents), do the math, hmmmm....365 days... lets give him a 80 mile round trip to Jeffco to drop off bodies, thats 1,120 miles per year. Why not use the Suburban??? Or what would be so wrong with using one of the retired Durangos or Explorers?? What the point here is "saving Park County money" that WE DON'T HAVE, NOR are getting in the future!!!!! A very close friend of mine predicted Park County going broke in 2011, and it's definetly coming true!!!!

My '98 4-Runner has over 180K miles and still runs like a champ. The only thing replaced are the brakes.

What's wrong with the Suburban? Oh, right, it's a Chevrolet.

Save us the money and use it to pay off the jail.

That only works if everyone in Park County goes to Bailey to die, Hartsel to Jeffco is 97 miles one way.

If anyone has a scanner & was listening during the election, there is certain proof that the coroner vehicle was not in this county, given the very fact that during a death at this time, the deputy coroner attending the death stated he did not have a vehicle to transport the body in. Furthermore, bodies have tipically been transported to the sheriff's facility, where Hagemann's picks them up. I have personally been on deaths & cannot every remember the body being transporrted in the Pk Co. Coroner vehicle down to Denver or where ever. So it really does not matter how many deaths And have known many times when that vehicle has not been here.

As far as the 10hr deleted position, & donated gurneys, this is simply a lot of grandstanding for the kid to get a new truck.
BTW, it is not the City of Fairplay. It is the Town of Fairplay. Furthermore, the resident taxpayers pay & pay dearly for the up keep of the town streets. I have been in several subdivisions on this side & the roads are horendous, including my own subdivision.

As far as the library, will they be tax exempt from paying taxes on that land? Once, the building goes up, they will not have to pay any taxes to the Town of Fairplay, just like, the County Bldg., Jail, etc. It is a travisty of justice to all taxpayers in this county, when they can find money to put up bldgs, which are not a necessity, like the comm center. Hopefully, the judge will have the matsa to have a hearing on the crt filing. It will be a long shot.

In regard to the poor guy who was shot, & how it happened, go & discuss this with anyone in Alma. As, was told by witnesses, he was shot in the lower back, kidney, & bled out. Hands at his side, UNARMED!

Well said Sundance, thanks.
I think "XmasPorn" (first of all talk about being "sophmoric", what kind of name and avatar is that, BUT sophmoric and egotistical) is either:

a. naive
b. head COMPLETELY stuck in the sand not knowing what goes on in Park Co.
c. does not CARE about the Park "going broke or bankrupt" financial issues
d. is an employee

My guess would be "D", how could a person not care about what is happening with our County government, or our beautiful county, trying so hard to help the idiots figure out ways to save money, except an employee? Afterall, "they" don't want to lose THEIR free vehicle benefits!!

Even if Park County was to contract hauling the bodies with the local price gouging towing companies it would be cheaper.

Let me make you aware that Xmas Porn does care and has contributed towards the costs of our filing against the commissioners. What he or she seems to be against IMO is the arguing and public display of charges through the forum, instead of taking action, thereby not only talking the talk, but also walking the walk. Hopefully I am getting through to you in this regard. Too many have been throwing allegations out on the public forum and ending up making mostly fools of themselves.

I'm wondering if ol' Freddy Boy has decided to put off the purchase of 5 new vehicles since we are in such "dire straights" and the Commissioners are looking towards "banks" to get a loan for the idiotic Comm. Center?

Nmysys, I was only giving other suggestions of saving money to our "spiraling down little economy", and I for one can't wait to see who breaks through this "corrupt controled dictatorship". Been waiting for 12 years now..... And I am definitely NOT a fool!!

exactly NMysys and I'm also against former employees that sit online throwing around a large number of unsubstantiated or unsupportable allegations of corruption about every single county employee. If this person was such a model county employee why were they given the choice to quit or be fired? That is not allegation, that came directly from this former county employee.

Yes there are things that can be changed in our county, but the continued unsubstantiated or unsupportable allegations of corruption about every single county employee is doing no one any good. It makes those who are crying wolf everyday look insane and it is likely covering up some real issues that citizens can get behind.

In the past year I had opportunities to work with several different county employees as part of community effort. Generally I found most of the people to be hard working and trying to do their best. In a rural county it is difficult to get the caliber of employee one could hire in Denver and this fact alone seems to lead to some bad decisions by people who are trying their best leveraging their knowledge and experience or lack there of.

Any time I see anti county threads turning into a bunch of BS allegations, I will call foul.
