Thanks. I was thinking about heading home, but I've decided now that it'd be in my best interestes to stay down the hill until the afternoon.

Maybe things will clear off by then.

You are probably right about that. From an hour ago I heard from my sources that essentially side highways off of I-70 are messy or even closed in some cases but it is improving.

I am guessing that 285 is going to see extra traffic from people trying to get to denver and bypassing I-70.

Problems along wadsworth. We have had several reports of accidents along wads from 285 to Alameda. This seems to be a particularly rough stretch.

Has anyone heard if Hoosier Pass is open or closed? Someone just told me that there was an accident on it and they closed it, but CDOT doesn't say anything about it being closed.

I leave here about 3 pm and would like not to be stopped for a lengthy time period...

Any information is most welcome. Thanks.

CDOT is showing this. We never got another update.

CO 9 Northbound Hoosier Pass (Milemarker 73-73)
Closed because of accident. All CMV must chain up. Road closure began February 23rd, 2012 at 10:24am. Alternate route is CR 4.

9 Hoosier Pass-Frisco (Milemarker 65.0 - 96.0)
Road Conditions-S nowIcySnow PackedAll CMV must chain up. Road is closed in both directions at MM73 due to accident.

And CDOT tweeted this 46 Minutes ago.

Hoosier Pass shouldn't be closed. Roads are icy/snowpacked though.

This was a very serious accident and I suspect the investigation into it will take quite some time. :(
