If you bother to read the decision, Roberts held that the penalty was within the taxing power of Congress, thus legal.
Thank you for contradicting President Obama...
OBAMA: No, but — but, George, you — you can’t just make up that language and decide that that’s called a tax increase. Any…
I found it interesting that Justice Roberts was the deciding vote, and that Kennedy did not join him. Roberts also sided with the liberals on the Arizona immigration case as well.
Is it possible Roberts will become GW's version of Souter, who his father picked? Or will Roberts be more like a Kennedy? Or is this week just a fluke?
Personally, I'd rather have a court of Kennedy's and maybe Roberts rather than the lock-step ideologues we have on both ends of the spectrum.

It looks like the SCOTUS just made up the language for Obama.
I have not contradicted anyone. I merely provided you information in regard to Justice Robert's holding, since you apparently do not have the ability to read the decision yourself.

It's so hard to have a conversation when reading-comprehension is a barrier....

A tax can be challenged... that was my only point. Thanks for playing.

Comprehend this... it is a tax. (Didn't Obama say something about not raising taxes for anyone making under $250,000?)
I haven't read all the briefs and opinions, but it still seems like it's regulation of commerce/ Commerce clause since the required plan benefits are highly detailed by HHS and the Feds. I know my current individual plan that I "don't really get to keep" doesn't meet Obama-care standards in 2014
Looks like I get to join the "Looters" as BearMtn says. Where do I sign up?
I think I'll take the gold or platinum plan, which ever costs more.
If you want to be, press one. If you want not to be, press 2
Republicans are red, democrats are blue, neither of them, gives a flip about you.
The looters win today- another 20% of the economy now under government control.
Welcome to the socialist states of what used to be America. The only good thing is- the left will have to live with the consequences along with the rest of us.
