Whereas, Grady's source is: "Source: Senate Budget Committee Ranking Member, Jeff Sessions Republican staff...."

There was an article I read recently but can't remember where (Christian Science Monitor maybe?) that the U.S. has been on a declining spiral in the world for some time but most refuse to see it or believe it. As many have pointed out we can't sustain our economy and as some noted our education system is turning out fewer and fewer graduates ready to compete on the world market.

If Obama's been bringing back so many good paying jobs why have 14 million people been added to the food stamp rolls?

.Electric Car Battery Maker A123 Systems Files Bankruptcy
A123, which received a $249.1 million federal grant in 2009 to build a U.S. factory, needed a financial lifeline after struggling with costs from a recall of batteries supplied to Fisker Automotive Inc., the plug-in hybrid luxury carmaker. A123 announced in August that it was working on a deal with Wanxiang Group Corp., China’s largest auto-parts maker, for financing in exchange for a majority ownership stake.

This was one thing Obama did that I respect him for. He attempted to push along alternative energy using government stimulus. We need to be energy independent and we need to move away from fossil fuels. Pushing technology that does this is not bad policy. You have to lose a few bets to win a few.

Yes, and so far the record of Success/Fail projects, (and yes, that counts the ever-popular hysterics-issue "Solyndra") is about 1.4% fail to 98% success... It's time we start getting away from fossil fuels...

Paying $100 per kilowatt hour of wind energy versus $1 per kilowatt hour of natural gas energy doesn't count as a success. Just like Obama spending $500K on a job that pays $40K.

Cell phones were once something only the rich had, but as technology advanced and production costs came down, everyone has one. The same will happen with renewable energy.

Didn't they use that same argument for nuclear energy? I seem to remember all the promises that nuclear...(pronounced NU-CLEEE-AR) energy would make cheap electric power....

Ask Japan how much it costs to replace nuclear power sources with fossil fuels. Their balance of trade is the worst in decades because they are having to replace the closed nuke plants with alternatives. Europe is doing the same thing and increasing pollution.
