Oh, and just one more thing. If Romney had won this election and I saw my fellow posters doing what you guys are doing I would have defended the liberals on here big time. I also think many of the conservatives would have been somewhat gracious within reason. I think what shocks me? I am still trying to find one liberal on here that was gracious. If this were just a few I would just chalk it up to whatever but the fact is I have not seen one of you not mock the other side. That is your problem. I don't get it.

I don't recall mentioning anything about rules, I believe what I said was related to having the courage to post as yourself, kind of related to having the courage of your convictions. I'm pretty sure you know how to Google that to find out what it means, if you don't already know.

Some of the posters getting hammered really brought it on themselves with the tone of their posts over the past 6 months. When you have a minimally moderated board and you let the posters say all of the brutal things they have, then you are going to have the backlash posts as well. We all know that if Romney would have won, the avalanche of brutal posts from those on here who are on the Right would have been nasty and large. Civility has never been the hallmark of the Courtroom on 285. I can't blame LJ for flinging it back for all of the sh** that been said toward and about her. Becky came on here lately and became ruder and ruder and shot off her mouth and now isn't even coming on here to face the music for everything she has said. I wouldn't be interested in making peace with all of the posters who have brutally attacked LJ personally if I were her either.

If the rude and snarky posts were all moved to the Ring in the beginning, maybe the toxic atmosphere could have been tamed. But by letting it all go for so long, we all know that this is what this board is all about, the faceless name calling and taunting of those you disagree with. Personal attacks are the hallmark of this forum. It keeps everyone coming back and keeps the click count up.

This is what you get with a mostly unmoderated board. Deal with it, warts and all because it's what you wanted. I like snark and can deal with toxic (in small doses). What i find tiresome are the posters who claim it's just "the other side" or that "the other side is worse (or started it)". It's not just one side, by a long shot.

And about LJ; CG, I've never seen her whining at all about how she is treated here - only pointing out that it cuts both ways. I've seen no need to "defend" her or to "call her out" for playing too rough because she's just playing the game by the rules of this forum and she's very capable of taking care of herself. As for compassion, I feel your pain - I felt much the same way after the 2004 election - but give me a break. Had this one gone the other way, salt would still be being rubbed into the wounds and for many days/weeks after. You grit your teeth and tolerate it or slink away for a while and wait for it to die down.

Now 'm looking foward to diplomacy, peace, and maybe some money being invested right here in America for a change..

I tried to let you down easy Becky..I begged you to prepare yourself for at least the possibility of a loss here... I asked you not to do what you were doing, I didn't want to see this but you waded right into the fight and got popped in the nose- If Romney had won do you think people would be coming after me? Its called diplomacy and negotiation..Ever been involved in one? You don't go into any negotiation saying "Were right your wrong and this is how its gonna go"...It doesnt work, we won't get anything by doing that. Obama is good, real good at getting things without having to use our military to get it..Its incredibly cheaper, nobody dies, we don't create generations of terrorists, and we get what we want....Its just plain smart Becky

Again with the hyperbole. It wasn't "2 days" it was less two hours. The post went up at 3 pm yesterday and you responded less than two hours later. I'm not sure when your name was removed but I'm sure it was as oon as you saw it and filed a complaint. And you also claimed you had been away from the forum five days, when it was actually one. You've got enough people on your side agreeing with you that it shouldn't have been posted -- me included -- without having to make stuff up to make it sound even worse.

As I pointed out in another thread, Big Doug was the target of a similar thread that was actually worse than the one about you, naming all his supposed previous nicks and showing unflattering pics that supposedly depicted him) but nobody seemed to be outraged about that one. I'm not sure why there's a double standard here on that.

And there never was an apology tour, as has been documented and fact checked. It's a phrase the right-winger like to use because, again, they don't believe the actual facts. It's no surprise to me that Karl Rove was behind the "apology tour" ads.

You know, after posting the watch thread, I actually agreed that it was inappropriate based on the comments from those on the left and right, that a certain poster who shall no longer be named could have very serious reasons for not coming back after election. I was about to pull the thread when she did come back, and based on her comments, I decided why spare her the chance at drama.
