The original and true 285Bound/MyMountainTown facebook page with over 1,000 Likes for which Communities Bound once congratulated us . Scroll down and you'll see nearly a 3 year history with multiple links to 285Bound.com before we transferred here.

The Facebook page that is now linked to from the Home Page of 285Bound.com and is NOT under my admin control. Notice it has only 3 Likes and just joined facebook, even though there is already a 285Bound.com Facebook page in existence.

The YouTube Channel that is linked to on the 285Bound.com Home Page is still my account and those videos on there are ABSOLUTELY my intellectual property - I filmed almost every single one of those, processed them all in my iMovie software, and uploaded them all. http://www.youtube.com/user/285Bound I'm still in the process of changing our information with Google. **Edit to add: the first link in the thread about making it to 1,000 Likes that goes to facebook.com/285Bound goes to the imposter page because I changed the title of the page, thus making available the term "285Bound" so it could be re-used again (wasn't expecting that to be done to me, same thing with the Twitter account). That link used to go to what is now the MyMountainTown Facebook page, formerly the 285Bound page. Just to clear up any potential confusion.

Same as with the redirect, the issue is driving traffic to the website. The primary use of social media for most businesses is to drive traffic back to their websites with teasers and links for more info. The quantifiable value in a website (or any business) is in the number of members/patrons and amount of traffic that it has. I do not have any problem with the content posted, the problem is that 285Bound is still my business, those "285Bound" pages are not being run by me, and they are redirecting back to a site that should still be under my control but isn't, due to a violation of the contract terms on the part of Communities Bound.

If all of a sudden there were posts on those social media sites that slander people, is porn, illegal content, etc I have no way to remove that content and yet it would reflect badly on me as that's my business name. And as they are representations of my business and are meant to drive traffic back to a site that should be under my control as I rightfully paid for it, then it is damaging my business because it's taking traffic away from here where it rightly belongs.

Before the transfer, we were running about 12,000 unique visitors/month to the site. Due to 285bound.com not being redirected, MyMountainTown.com is down to ~2,000 unique visitors/month (although we are kicking ass way better than we've ever done in terms of average time each person spends on the site, how many pages are being viewed, and how few of people are leaving after coming in to view an initial page). Businesses advertise here because they believe they will get lots of views that will translate into actual business - Return On Investment. Less traffic could mean they are less likely to continue advertising.
