Actually I wanted single payer universal healthcare. But the ACA is better than doing nothing. The Republicans have no cause to complain, they have put forth nothing that would improve healthcare or the cost of health insurance for those who are unable to afford it.I'm sure we will never see you admit you were wrong when the ACA turns out to be beneficial to our country and its citizens.....

Then you need to move to North Korea, Cuba, or Venezuela. Let me know how well the health care system works in those countries.

I can explain it to you but I can't understand it for you.

I'm sure you are well aware that those are not the only countries offering all their citizens healthcare, but I am not surprised you would pick those particular countries to make your point. Sorry to disappoint you but I have no intention of leaving this country. I believe in this country, I believe that whatever we put our mind to we can do better than any other country in the world, including healthcare. What holds us back is politics, and that may yet be our undoing.

 Tick-tock, tick-tock .... October 1st is nearly here....

Then everybody starts finding out about cheaper rates; covered pre-existing conditions; no lifetime limits; no rescissions, children staying on their parent's plan until age-26; covered pre-existing conditions in children...

And here is what the TeaBots are offering: ___

GIVE THE PEOPLE WHAT THEY WANT!!! Sit back and chuckle when what they want turns out to be the train wreck we all knew it would be.

I can explain it to you but I can't understand it for you.

I will happily admit that the ACA is good if that highly unlikely outcome occurs. But you have to promise me that you will admit that you were wrong if it is a failure.

So we really need to make this fair by using public opinion polls... Gallop or some other similar.

So what's a success or failure %? 60% 70%... 55%? The odds are in your favor here since at least 40% don't pay taxes and will benefit the most and get subsidized... so there's a guaranteed 40% who will like it. How about 60% threshold wins after 1 year of full implementaion... guess we have to start the clock after all of Obama's waivers finally expire.

I'm game... are you?

Well... evidently the AFL-CIO feels it's not going to be beneficial to their constituents... they asked for a waiver. How about SMART, the United Food and Commercial Workers, UNITE-HERE hotel, airport, food service, gaming, and textile union... they are having problems with all those "benefits." I believe the AFL-CIO produced a resolution that said "In a strongly worded resolution released Wednesday, the federation said that labor unions still support the Affordable Care Act's overall goals of reducing health costs and bringing coverage to all Americans, but added that the law is being implemented in a way that is "highly disruptive" to union health care plans."

And I believe that Congress asked (and received) an $11,000.00 special subsidy as a buffer to them joining the plan.

Franchise restaurant owners have come to Washington seeking a change to ObamaCare that they say could prevent them from having to cut their employees’ hours.

Just because the GOP has "put forth nothing that would improve healthcare or the cost of health insurance for those who are unable to afford it" in no way makes what the Democrats came up with viable.

That's sort of like proving a negative with a negative.

But of course these Americans above don't know what they are talking about.

JOSE DIAZ-BALART, TELEMUNDO: The Affordable Care Act takes effect next month, The latest NBC/Wall Street Journal poll shows Americans oppose it, believing it will produce damaging results. Fifty-two percent believe the law will raise their health care costs. Is everybody wrong?

PRESIDENT BARACK OBAMA: Yes, they are.

It warms my heart to see that you and Obama are right... and so many other citizens are just plain wrong.

It's not the first time, nor will it be the last time that a well financed propaganda campaign buried the truth in an avalanche of lies.

However, give it some time, then ask the people if

1. Are you willing to give up your insurance because you have a pre-existing condition

2. Are you willing to return to a lifetime cap on the insurance for your gravely ill child?

3. Do you want to go back to higher premiums because you are a woman?

4. When your child hits 21, and is out of school but not making a lot of money do you want to pay for him/her to buy their own health insurance, let them go without insurance, or keep them on your policy till age 26.

5. Do you like not having to worry about your health insurance being cancelled when you get sick, or are you willing to give up that security

There are many more such as these benefits that people will say they want to keep, yet will then say yeah, the ACA is a bad bill. Why? Because the GOP told me so.
