Impeachment proceedings against Trump

There. Doesn't. Have. To. Be. A. Clear. Cut. Crime. To. Meet. The. Standard. For. Impeachment.
Even Lindsay Graham said so. So did our Founding Fathers in their writings.
"If the truth doesn't matter, we're lost. The Founding Fathers couldn't protect us from ourselves if right and truth don't matter." ~Adam Schiff

“Nothing can destroy a government more quickly than its failure to observe its own laws, or worse, its disregard of the charter of its own existence” ~Justice Tom C. Clark, Mapp vs. Ohio

“The life of the nation is secure only while the nation is honest, truthful, and virtuous.” ~Frederick Douglass

Trump has lied, over and over, he just hasn't done it under oath...yet. Look who he picked for part of his defense team - Alan Dershowitz, the man who represented Jeffrey Epstein. That he associates with such a person, puts his defense in his hands, should tell you all you need to know.

It's a shame that these proceedings aren't supported on a more bipartisan basis, but that isn't an indication that this is an unfair witch hunt, it's a condemnation on how the Republicans in office have sadly sold their souls in letting this administration get away with unConstitutional actions. I fully expect that McConnell will keep them all in line, they won't allow witnesses that should've already been deposed, and documents that should've already been produced (according to court rulings even) so that We The People could see all of the evidence and judge this being fully informed. They know Trump is guilty, yet they are protecting him. An innocent man fears no evidence or testimony.

This impeachment is an indictment on the corrupt Republicans in office and may God have mercy on their souls because voters sure as hell won't come November.

"Now, more than ever, the illusions of division threaten our very existence. We all know the truth: more connects us than separates us. But in times of crisis the wise build bridges, while the foolish build barriers. We must find a way to look after one another as if we were one single tribe.” -King T'Challa, Black Panther

The truth is incontrovertible. Malice may attack it. ignorance may deride it, but in the end, there it is. ~Winston Churchill

You have got to be kidding, SC.

If the truth doesn't matter, we're lost. The Founding Fathers couldn't protect us from ourselves if right and truth don't matter." ~Adam Schiff.

Do you really take him at his word?

Wait, I get it the quote is only a parody.

"I find it deeply disturbing to see these bureaucrats willing to cheat to take down a political opponent. Everyone is talking about the Houston Astros cheating and stealing signs, but it is much more disturbing to see government break the rules for political reasons. "

And yet you do not see the Cheater-in-Chief did exactly that. The human mind is a curious thing.

And yet you fully support and believe a reality tv star and failed businessman with at least 4 bankruptcies (some say more) been sued almost 3000 times for failure to pay vendors and contractors, lied over 16,000 times in three years, raped his wife and at least 20 other women, paid off two pornstars, Cheated on his first wife with his 2nd wife, cheated on 2nd wife a number of times, married a third wife and while she was pregnant barbacked one of those paid off porn stars, has become the laughing stock of the world and best yet, cow tows to putin. Has spent almost 40% of his time at trump properties and has golfed over 120 days? He passed President Obamas number of golf days in 8 years IN HIS 2nd YEAR IN OFFICE! He doesn't work, all he does is screw over MY country in several ways and tweets all day long idiotic shit. Not to mention has had over 70% of his condos bought by russians so they can bring their wives over to deliver russian anchor babies and has to threat GOP senators that if the vote to allow witnesses that their heads would be hoisted on petards... And that trump believes putin and guiliani over our own intelligence agencies? Really?? Wow. The sycophantic nature of the GOP in INSANE!

Just call me cynical and jaded, but I don't vote for politicians based on their morality. I didn't vote for Donald. I chose the Libertarian candidate. I tend to vote against politicians. I knew in Colorado my presidential vote doesn't matter but by voting for a Libertarian, they get more matching funds. (Irony, a Libertarian getting matching government funds?)

Here is a rhetorical question: Will the decision of the Senate be accepted as valid by the members of MMT?

From wsj.com 1/24/20 Editorial
"Democratic Rep. Jerrold Nadler on Thursday summed up the case for ousting President Trump this way: “Simply stated, impeachment is the Constitution’s final answer to a President who mistakes himself for a king.” Which brings us to the case Democrats made Friday for their second article of impeachment charging “obstruction of Congress.” This would make Congress a king.

The remarkable House claim is that Mr. Trump violated the Constitution because he dared to resist Congressional subpoenas. He cited executive privilege to direct nine “vital” Administration officials not to cooperate with the House impeachment inquiry.

“President Trump thus interposed the powers of the Presidency against the lawful subpoenas of the House of Representatives, and assumed to himself functions and judgments necessary to the exercise of the ‘sole Power of Impeachment’ vested by the Constitution in the House of Representatives,” the House declares in its impeachment resolution.

Shorter version: The House has the unilateral power to define executive privilege, and a President has no constitutional authority to resist. If he does resist, the House can throw him out of office."

I encourage you to read the editorial in its entirety.

The RINO's will vote to NOT have witnesses. Why? They feel that Biden is their best chance in the general election. If witnesses are to be heard, he and Hunter will be called and that would destroy Biden's chances.
This is my opinion.

Joe Biden will simply claim executive privilege and Hunter will plead the 5th. It will be a big waste of time.
