Taking down the POW/MIA flag? LOL. Think President Trump was going after John McCain one more time? In so many ways, Donald Trump was such a petty man.

Joe Biden is goin to announce that we will be leaving Afghanistan by 9/11/21. Trump had negotiated with the Taliban a May 1 withdrawal. Biden said that could not be done because of logistics, we have 3500 troops there.

In 1940 over a period of 8 days the Brits evacuated 340,000 troops from Dunkirk.

How many will be killed and wounded during that period from May 1 - Sept 11.?

Someone in the H-B administration thought that 9/11 would be appropriate. It seems to me that it rubs salt into the wound, especially on the 20th anniversary of the attack.

Well, the best I can come up with is that Osama and the Taliban were allies and by leaving Afghanistan on 9/11 the U.S. is surrendering, symbolically to Osama bin Laden.

I actually think the Taliban will lay low and not attack US troops. They don't want to give the Neoconservatives in DC a reason to increase troop levels. Plus they know drones can make their life miserable even if there aren't any US ground troops.

I'm guessing we will see another attack on US soil on 9/11... hope I'm wrong but we have a wounded leader (mentally), our economy is weakened, we are divided, and our enemies know how to capitalize on our weaknesses.

It's the 20th anniversary of our involvement there. Not hard to figure out. Trump promised to bring the troops home. He didn't.

It is our longest war and the end will be similar to the result of the U.S. pulling out of Vietnam. Our involvement will have changed nothing.

Trump set May 1 as the date all troops should be out of Afghanistan. Harris-Biden negated that, choosing to wait for 5 more months. As I stated before H-B said that it was logistical impossible. The he announced 9/11 as the date. You really should get out of your abode more often, Wayne.

My interpretation is what Biden announced: The drawdown of all 2,500 U.S. troops in that country beginning May 1 and concluding by Sept. 11, the 20th anniversary of the war.

He doesn't want them there longer than 20 years. The British pulled out after 13 years. The Russians learned their lesson in 9 years, before pulling out.

As Ramage said, his plan was to have them out by May 1st. Don't you recall the criticism Trump got from your "journalist" brothers and sisters, where they said that would be "reckless"? If Trump set the date for 9/11 of this year, don't you think he would have been attacked for that date too? You know the truth.

I seriously doubt that TRUMP was even aware of the anniversary date...given his POW/MIA prank of pulling down the flag,commemorating THE MEN who were heroes...self centered is NOT outwardly focused.
