VL, it goes both ways. What about the law banning happy meals. Is that freedom? They do it on both sides. It is just that each side thinks what they think is freedom is the right freedom or restriction.

the ring is the ring. people say and do whatever they want. i doubt a thread about personal insults is going to change it any. if i tire of the insults i either scroll past or go read in the courthouse.

a long time ago a copper friend of mine said that everyone is capable of committing murder. that stunned me. that doesn't mean everyone does. but it made me think that we sometimes also have thoughts about what a miserable s.o.b. someone is for whatever reason and here is one place where it can be expressed. it isn't pretty but it is often truthful.

when i first came here i was disgusted with a lot of what i read as there just seemed to be so much squabbling and little good discussion. but i figured i took things to seriously, came back with an attitude of having fun - when good discussion happens great, when someone says something stupid that deserves to get nailed - great too.

I don't tell others how to live. I tell them only what I feel. Since I don;t spend that much time on here anymore I could care less if the Liberals want to use me as their target. I have earned that and wear it proudly.

I usually think personal insults don't add to the argument but I do love some of the funnier ones.

I think there are two types of personal insults. The ones where you call somebody something or say something insulting that deflects from the argument and the ones where posters change another poster's screen name into something insulting that's a variation of the name. That immediately labels the person who does it as a certain type of person. There's really no call for that on here, but some people are raised that way and can't help themselves.
