Just to set the record straight

I have never seen anyone say anything negative about Wayne (outside of the regular debating and suchlike here), until you arrived, mtntrekker. One of about 500? You have stats on this? Or did the man write an article at some point that you didn't like, took as a personal offense, so you assumed a crowd of others must dislike him too?

I stand by what I've said on this - and others have said before. Say what you want about someone online - most people know it's a stack of vented crap anyway. But when you go outside of that and attempt to ruin other people's businesses and careers, you are a non entity, not worthy of the air you waste by breathing.

No one says you have to be buddy buddy with everyone you know - this place would be pretty damn boring if we were all best buddies, wouldn't it?

LH i have the stats - when wayne went after someone, egging the neighbors on and showing up at their hearing and doing other stuff to other individuals who complained he alienated a group of people. wayne really needs to check his claims in these posts considering there have been a number of settlements on the issues. but that is another issue and i am not a party to it.

i am only concerned about the problems that i have run into in trying to do something good for this website and associated ones. i know many of the businesses who advertise here are small and the exposure is very good for them. to pay huge newspapers prices keeps many from advertising otherwise. there are many who travel to denver also and there are a number of businesses, to my way of thinking, who might want to consider this great avenue that jmc and partners have started. i just wasnt prepared for the backlash about wayne. as i have said to them he is not a partner and as he has recently stated in his posts he is not a businessman and more than likely would have a lot to recommend in the way of pitfalls and failures in running a business.

as i have said i am asking potential businesses to consider the benefits and to talk or email jmc and let him share the pluses of getting their business name out there.

i don't spend a lot of time on the internet as we are already out signing up people in the local hispanic community to vote in the 2012 election. i have lots of opportunity in talking with them to share websites like this one. i think it is a good idea whose time has come.

i am also very active in the denver community. i have a well known maiden last name and while i sit on the opposite party from them i have had an opportunity to get to know quite a few people.

and a plug for the denver chamber of commerce and the hispanic chamber of commerce - if you are business, even a small one, you might want to consider joining and meeting a lot of successful business people who are willing to share their knowledge. you might even get box seat tickets to some pretty wow sports events. i can't complain.

Cool! You got something right! From your overuse (and perhaps misuse. I'm not an English major.) of hyphens, I'm guessing you weren't either. Not that it matters in an online forum.

Local_Historian wrote: saying you're being an asshole and calling you an asshole are two distinctly different things.

A small distinction I guess. To me, someone who acts like an asshole is an asshole. YMMV.

Local_Historian wrote: But nice try on trying to twist things to make yourself look better.

How would stating that I was called an asshole make me look better? Please explain your logic.

Local_Historian wrote: It's basic grammatical structure.

I think - perhaps - it could possibly be. Not being an English major - or minor - leaves me unable to determine that.

Local_Historian wrote: Or did you wish to be called an asshole?

Of course I do! What a silly question!

Local_Historian wrote: As for the "I wasn't talking to you" let's see - you said PMs invite was extended to SG only, and then that you only came over her to talk to JMC because he invited you. so much for saying it only once.

Pssst. Secret time: Those are 2 different things.

Local_Historian wrote: So much for sounding like you got past junior high.

Then you should feel even more embarrassed by this back and forth. BTW, my father didn't get past junior high. (Of course, the 30's were a different time.) So don't use that as an insult to me. Based on this conversation, he was much smarter, and a much better person than you. Education isn't everything. I don't know your level of education but if it's very high, it's not a very good reflection on your school. You can't even assimilate and process information correctly. And your debating skills are non-existent.

Local_Historian wrote: It appears you are wrong on a great number of things.

It wasn't what you said here, which was one thing. I've rebutted everything you said point by point. What other "great number" of things am I wrong on oh great generalizer (and hyphenator)?

First, this incident happened 5 or 6 YEARS ago. Nothing that I am aware of has happened since, regarding this "someone" and I had forgotten about it until a similar-worded post by you talking about a "boycott" of my work in language that mirrored the original "someones" posts from 5 or 6 years ago.

Second, I was ASKED to attend the Park County court hearing for a restraining order by one of the neighbors who requested a restraining order against the "someone" -- her neighbor -- because it was the same "someone" who was causing problems for Pinecam, threatening to sue me and the board of directors because she had been banned. The person who ASKED me to attend for moral support was a Pinecammer who was afraid of the her neighbor -- thus the request for a restraining order. Apparently the "someone" had been videotaping the neighbor. The woman won the restraining order against her neighbor. The hearing was covered by the Flume newspaper.

Despite the threats over "civil rights violations" for banning the "someone," Pinecam was never sued. This was AFTER the "someone" sent letters with her signed name to my wife, the wife of another Pinecam board member and the Pinecam board member's church "warning" them about us. The letters were turned over to the sheriff's office, in case they continued. Mysterious complaint letters with fake names arrived at both our jobs at the same time. But again, this was 5 or 6 YEARS ago.

It's not a "group" of people I alienated. It was the "someone" I pissed off who has visions of grandeur and legions of imaginary supporters who the "someone" conjures up when needed and imaginary local businesses who supposedly won't do business with this website because of me, but when asked for the names and contacts of these people, can't come up with any.

My Hispanic granddaughter and Hispanic son-in-law were surprised to learn 500 other Hispanics are mad at me.

It is is interesting to me that in the years since I left pinecam, I have "made peace" with just about everyone I tangled with on Pinecam except this one "someone" who won't let go. In fact, some of my former adversaries are here on 285Bound, posting with me, after we settled our disputes. We all realize that this site is something better than the old Pinecam because it allows more freedom of expression. I have learned a lot from JMC and Robyn in this respect and can see where I made mistakes on Pinecam in this area.

It is obvious from your posts, mtntrekker, that you still have an issue with this, even though you claim you are not the aggrieved party -- which makes it even more strange that you would be bothered by this after all this time. It is also obvious you have anger management issues, if you keep something like this going in your head for 5 or 6 years -- particularly since you claim not to be the actual "someone" involved.

mtntreker wrote: i just wasnt prepared for the backlash about wayne. as i have said to them he is not a partner and as he has recently stated in his posts he is not a businessman and more than likely would have a lot to recommend in the way of pitfalls and failures in running a business.

When you run into this so-called "backlash" about me in the future, please ask "them" to contact me directly to discuss the issues they still have with me after I've been away from the scene for so long. If they aren't interested in hearing both sides of an issue before forming an opinion then they're not a business one would want to support anyway.

Henry, my "henchman" as "someone" referred to him in a post, was the businessman for Pinecam. Before him, it was Kurt.

I know one of the top if not the top person in the Denver Hispanic chamber and community. This person doesn't live in Park County, though the family owns property here. This person would never post on this forum or any other forum.

I suspect mtntrekker is an underling using the name of the organization in a manner that the leaders of the organization would not support.
