All this will accomplish will be to continue to add to the deficit as they have been doing all along. Yeah- doing the same thing and hoping for a different result. That's what Republicans do best.

Markets do not like uncertainty, Obama should of addressed this earlier and we would be realizing a recovery much sooner. Obama is slow on everything, he might be America's first learning disabled president. No wonder we can never get a peek at his school records from Columbia and Harvard.

It did for over 50 straight months of 6 figure a month job growth. It was the Fanny, Freddie, housing colapse that led to this recession. No amount of tax cuts could stop that. But had we not had them we would probably be at 12-14% unemployment. So now we just keep doing what worked.

900 billion over ten years! This tax break is only good for two years, so that is much less than the 900 billion figure the Left has been throwing around. Remember Congress can change tax law any time they want to and even back date changes to the tax code. A new rate will have to be written in 2012.

Gotta love $ 900 billion staying in our economy instead of the hands of politicos. When the government starts cutting expenses....let's talk.

And if the liberals would like to make a voluntary donation to pay down the debt...here's the link ....http://www.pay.gov

The tax cuts for the rich is 900 billion over 10 years, the other add-ons in the bill change the time frame.
America does need to pay the piper, but right now is a bad time to do it.

Exactly!! Which is going to go further to stimulate the economy? $900 billion given to the government or letting Americans keep $900 billion to spend and hire? If only we had a perfect example of a failed and wasted almost $900 billion in the hands of the governement? Hmmmmm.......The stimulus package! The government already got almost $900 billion from the taxpayers without paying for it. What did they do with it? They used it to take unemployment from under 8% to almost 10% for 19 months now with that. They still have a few hundred billion sitting there while people are unemployed. They sent a lot overseas, and they even lost a lot of it. They have proven that you can't give them that kind of money as they actually made the economy WORSE. They don't deserve more taxpayer money from anyone because htey have proven that they don't do anything with it to help our economy or the unemployed.

And it is so funny how a few liberal millionaires and billionaires keep saying they are fine with raising taxes on them to help pay down the deficit. They have to be forced to pay more by the government? As if they can't just help out, if they are so saintly? They are full of crap and it is all an advertising campaign for the Liberal agenda of Tax and Spend.

So Viking, you are now on record as supporting increasing the deficit to "stimulate" the economy? So why is it that companies are currently sitting on huge cash reserves while being on the record that they will not increase hiring until they see the middle class increasing their consumer spending. Does it not make more sense to concentrate getting money directly into the hands of the middle class to stimulate the economy, as the Democrats were trying, or to create even larger deficits to reward the wealthy who, according to leading economists, will do nothing to stimulate the economy, as the Republicans insist?

It isn't surprising to me that the Republicans complain about the deficit out of one side of their mouth, then urge raising the deficit out of the other. Bunch of self serving idiots, from the ones in congress to the ones who believe whatever they tell them to believe, hook, line and sinker. unfortunately, the sinker is going to be this country's economy.
