My Mountain Town Weather From Meteorologist Steve Hamilton Morrison | Conifer | Evergreen | Pine | Bailey | Fairplay | Jefferson-Como | Alma | Lake George & Guffey | Hartsel
Rain or Snow Showers Thursday...
We don't have any big storm systems coming in, but occasional rain or snow showers are expected over the next couple of days, and things will stay breezy for the Foothills. But, the wind should calm down a little on Wednesday. Sunshine is expected through the day Wednesday with wind out of the northwest at 15 to 25 mph. Wednesday night, a few rain or snow showers will be possible, as a low pressure trough to our west increases the moist air a little bit. Any precipitation will be scattered, and with cool temperatures, we could see some snow showers, or a mix of rain and snow. Then, the best precipitation chances will happen Thursday, starting as snow, or a rain/snow mix early in the day, with mostly rain in the afternoon. Snow accumulation won't amount to much. We'll stay fairly cool on Thursday, but warming up a bit on Friday, with a few lingering showers possible.
Thursday Night: Snow showers possible, and windy. Low: Upper 20s.
Friday: A few morning snow showers. Scattered rain showers midday and afternoon. High: Mid 50s.

Thursday Night: A few snow showers. Low: Upper 20s.
Friday: Scattered rain showers. Mix of sun and clouds. High: 50.

This is great I am so glad to know we have our own Meteorologist.
Maybe he can tell me when it will rain in Bailey so the pine pollen will go away. People tell me I live in the banana belt but have yet to see a banana tree

Great question NeutralGuy! Steve will be posting his forecasts on our new Super Local Weather Forecasts page here:
mymountaintown.com/weather-traffic/super-local-weather
which can be found in the drop-down menu that opens up when you click on Weather & Traffic in the menu across the very top of the page (or you can bookmark it!).
I too would love to see some photos and/or video while storm-chasing!

I have a real question...Where in Bailey is the temp reading coming from?
I am only asking as it says 73 right now and both my manual and digital thermometer are saying 80 they are on the back side of the house so the sun is not hitting them.
This is mostly a curiosity thing I know temps can be different depending on altitude and all that.
Do you mean the current temp that is displayed on the left-hand side of the Home & weather pages? If so, that's from Weather Underground; I have no idea where they measure it.

Unfortunately, Steve had some family health stuff come up. If everyone could send good positive healing thoughts to his family, it would be much appreciated. He's hoping to start this week, but I told him to not worry as family comes first. I'll keep you posted when he's ready! Thanks.
