Why depicting Obama as a monkey is always racist

One last question. Would it be funny to use the holocaust in depicting a president were he of Jewish heritage? Dress him up with a star of david on a train. Not a judgement, a real question. Explain to me what you think the difference is.

If the text that goes with the image is racial, then yeah - it's racial.

But to say that comparing Obama to a chimp is ALWAYS racist is bullhooie.

I guess I'm an optimist. I assume no racial content until proven otherwise. If more people had that same approach, maybe 'racist' wouldn't be the worn-out, ineffective term it has become and would regain some of it's dispicable overtones.

CG, you really do need to take a break. You've painted yourself into a corner.

The holocaust was reality. No, it wouldn't be funny.

But, you've just drawn an analogy that can backfire very easilly on you.

Holocaust/Jews = Chimps/blacks.

One is reality, one is a wildly innacurate racial slur

That can only serve to reinforce the slur in warped minds, and falls flat as a bad analogy in sane minds.

Now, if you had used some other unfortunately common racial slam like maybe Jewish people being extraorinarilly frugal that might be a more proper analogy.
