Why depicting Obama as a monkey is always racist

Gurantee go to the south and you will find alot of democratic racists.

Listen, I think both instances in history were terrible. The holocaust has always made me cry. And I cannot understand how people can be so unfeeling. I am not being mean I am trying to get the point across that persecution is persecution. And no matter who you are it is not an easy thing to have happen to you let alone have some throw it in your face. Whether or not you feel white people have been maligned. Letting the ape thing go and trying to have the argument that everyone is using it as a symbol of stupidity does not wash. Maybe some are but it is known some are not and this is reason enough for me not to use it. We should find a different way to get your point across. I happen to believe a very small part of republicans are truly racist.

My son, went to a prestigious, rigorous high school program. He was the minority by far in school because this is an international program. He watched all his friends get better scholarship deals than what he got. And he was an A student and in most cases got much better grades than they did. He is a white male but he does not begrudge them. He was a bit disappointed and even jealous. Why would he not get what they did? But race is not that big to them they make fun of each other but they don't go too far. The ape thing is going too far. MHO.

Sorry CG, but I just can't let this statement go without an explaination. Did you forget to say that a small percentage of Democrats are ALSO TRULY RACISTS or is it just not possible for a Democrat to be racist? Are you one who believes that a black person in 2011 can not be a racist since they have dead ancestors who were slaves?

No I will give you that as well. But this monkey thing is out there. It is not helping the case. Racism can be subjective.

You should have posted the text that came with the picture and then maybe we could judge whether or not this was a racist picture. The "trust me" defense does not work.

I'm half Polish myself TPP, I also remember as a kid in the 60s most of the jokes I heard were Polish jokes. Maybe I was too young to understand but even today I just think they are funny.

I do think the picture is racist personally but it in now way shows the Republicans or more racist than Democrats.

I almost did but I can't post that awful stuff publicly. Hey, let's take the monkey thing out for a second. I have gotten emails from a republican that has racist stuff that is unmistakable. So, with that and this monkey issue together the black stuff (with the n word) is out there in abundance. So, if you guys tell me you are categorically against that stuff then I believe you do not mean it racially. If you receive it and think it is okay (the truly awful racist stuff) then I believe we have an issue.

My question is--- out of you republicans on here ---- do you receive that stuff like I do? (am I really the only one?) and do you think it is funny? I do not.

That is total BS! It is based upon preconceived notions. Racism is quite alive north of the Mason Dixon line with more enthusiasm than the south.

I receive absolutely no political emails. I do not belong to a political party. I correspond with no people (non-business) outside of my family or tribe. I correspond with no business connections casually.
The politically oriented emails that I receive are related to the Bureau of Indian Affairs, the NRA, the ACLU, the Sierra Club,
I have all images blocked and I have spam filters.
Online I surf anonymously using a service called Anonymizer.

It is my opinion that those who receive such political emails have left themselves open for such spam. If the content disgusts you, then start a regimen to eliminate them. It took me several years to finally get my spam rate to near zero.
